Enjoyed that, managed to put in a good constant effort, although thought I was going to blow just before top of Leith as Tommy came through.
After watching @IrishAl video I thought I'd go with around 250W on the flat and around 290W on the hills.
250W didn't seem enough on the flats so prob went a bit higher, 290W seemed about right , maybe a tad high. Anyway overall average power was 268W which is pretty much bang in the middle.
Pleased with the effort,Zwift insider segment time : 42:02 , although I may have lost loads of time coming out of aero position to wave to everyone as passing^_^.
Thanks Tommy and Al and everyone who took part .

Bloody hell that was hard work. Completely knackered.

<steve.exe has crashed and needs to be rebooted>

First one off and I somehow managed to keep the lead for almost 14 minutes before someone caught me. And I got a PR up Leith Hill - my first ever sub-10 minute time. Also held off Marino to finish one from last - though that's a little unfair, as he only got on his bike something like 90 seconds before his go time, so probably wasn't exactly on top form!

But good fun all the same. Same time next week?

Strava not playing ball. No one listed when I view Cyclechat club leaderboard, so best alternative is riders I am following, For some reason you’re not showing up @carl (46:38)

😂 I wasnt too sure myself what was going on, but I saw a flurry of names including mine so went for it.
I’m sorry but that hill was tougher and longer than I thought it would be. Next TT will be down the Alpe 😁
I’ll check the segment times now and see what we have but well done everyone.

Fuego Flats next time... 😉

To be honest, it was Zwift themselves who were your enemy tonight!

As I got close to the top of Leith Hill, the banner came up suggesting what my ETA for the climb might be and it was fluctuating around the 9:40 to 9:50 mark. Knowing that my PR was 10:02 and being desperate to break that banner, I put in an extra dig for the final half mile. Without that inspiration, I'd have probably kept to the same average watts I put out on the early parts of the climb and you might just have been able to catch me before the hill ended (I did notice you were slowly eating into my lead all the way to that point). Then as you say, once over the top, my extra weight finally came into play and gave me a boost down the hill.

And if you want to watch what it feels like to have a blur of other riders whizz by you (or you're just curious as to when exactly you overtook me), the video of my ride is uploaded now. Bonus points to those who waved - @Spartak, @BurningLegs, @Alongo

For anyone else interested .... here's my recording. You'll notice I miss the start of the race ... it was only as @Brusgaard caught me and I was thinking "wave to the camera" that I remembered I hadn't actually started the recording  Oh well, the first few minutes were pretty boring anyway :becool:

interesting looking at the time gaps.
my plan was to go out below FTP on the flat, and then above ftp on the climb as per GP Llama tip...but the Adrenalin of the race, and seeing Legs On the ropes spurred me on And I was at FTP for the first 20 min. By the start of the climb I was more or less on the same split time as @bridgy when I could see Legsy was closing in quite fast and then my cylinder head gasket blew. 😄 Lee and Nick both Put big time into me on Leith itself. 👏
