You should have eaten all the food before ascending the climb, to make the bike lighterI did it with a 40kg saddle bag full food and tools, so my time is severely compromised
Did you notice I mentioned food first

That looks pretty gruelling!
Close to Guildford train station though which is on a main line so folks looking to travel by train shouldn't have to faff about with too many changes...
That's a great ride.
It's really a sportive but at Audax prices.
I've done it about 3 times and its a hard route. Got a gold time the 2nd year, lost fitness and struggled for silver the following year.
Normally takes place on a Sunday in August, although I haven't checked if its affected by Covid this year.
We could certainly ride the route without having to enter the Audax. I'm pretty sure there are .gpx files of the route and I may even have one myself on Strava
Too far for me to travel although a few years ago ( b4 kids ), I did drive across to Surrey to take part in The Tour of the Surrey Hills Audax event, I recall staying in a lovely youth hostel set in woodland.
Incognito windowSpeaking of online shopping...
Whenever I google search / window shop online. The missus then starts getting bombarded with related adverts for similar products on Facebook. Any idea how I can stop this from happening? She’s out of the country at the moment with the kids. But every time she calls me it’s not to say hello. Its to tell me to stop looking at watches, bikes and power tools!
Now I am wondering how Tommy hides his other searches...😉Incognito window
Not sure what you mean - incognito was specifically designed for secret shopping, wasn't it?Now I am wondering how Tommy hides his other searches...😉

With the caveat of only measuring left power and doubling, which I'm not too worried about)
Definitely dancing about like that today after seeing you disappear in the rear view shot las night
Last time I looked at you I think you were trying to tell me there was 1 mile left with your hand signal 😁
Could be an interesting first rideJust ordered a power meter (thanks for the code @bobinski) so expecting to be back in B Cat for Zwift races soon
Went for the 4iiii precision - £197 on PBK after discounts. It's a reconditioned unit but comes with the normal 3year warranty. Considered accurate by DC Rainmaker, GP Lama, and Titanium Geek (with the caveat of only measuring left power and doubling, which I'm not too worried about).
Current FTP is 292W measured by a Tacx Flow so will probably set FTP manually low in Zwift and then spin up the Alpe to get a new figure from the PM...
