I cant find it quickly, I may be mistaken here.......... but from memory

You get the Garmin conversion Cartridge kit for Shimano spd-sl pedals.

There are few types of SPD mountain pedals, plastic body and another metal body and flat/spd combo. The metal body has the same internals as the shimano SL pedals. ergo they will fit :okay:

I'll look about later if you cant find it- check some other forums for previos postings :okay:

I dont know the differences. I just remember it has been done. It does look to be a desperate meed to have SPD power meter pedals. Now there are dedicated SPD PM pedal so mo need

For those who have ridden/are planing to ride Ventoux, what trainer realism are you setting? I always prefer to ride steep steady climbs at 100% purely because as I get more tired then just to turn the pedals I have to push a decent wattage whereas a lower % setting I end up spinning at a tiny watt  Does mean knees start to scream at me though :B)

Rest day today ready for the Irish league race tomorrow so still need to try and find a slot to ride France  @Ketty, @Freelanderuk, we going for glory tomorrow night in C?

I’m suffering today. DOMS, general muscular fatigue in the back/torso, light headed when I stand, and devouring any food in sight.

All worth it though!

I might have to swap the IRL race tomorrow for a light session if I haven’t recovered!

I hope this passes for witty banter ..,
You suck...

Edit:Oh come on you keep gaining more of a lead... you’re killing me. I’ve tried twice to gain a a little it’s like you know and take off.,

1 @peterob i also spent a lot of time looking at these tracking things a few years ago , there was only 2 options really - one relied on Bluetooth so once your bike was out of range of anyone in the community-using the app then it was pointless and the other was a monthly contract that I didn’t want to sign up for but maybe I should have , I haven’t looked for ages so I guess things have moved on so I ain’t no help sorry
The gps tracker I'm mostly considering is the Sherlock. It fits into your handlebar end (so seems relatively simple to transfer between bikes). The first 2 years of usage is free and then it goes to EUR 2.50 a month.

I'm doing more cycle 'day trips' these days and want to do a bit of cycle touring and am finding that I am leaving my bike more often (chained obviously). But even with the bike out of sight for a brief time whilst at a cafe stop (or checking in at a hotel Randy ) can be long enough for it to be nabbed and a tracker may prove useful.

Funnily enough with recent talk, The Guardian had an article about gps trackers today .

@Whorty has reminded me, it's the Irish thingy tomorrow. Anyone from D racing it? @steverob?
Unlikely - legs are like jelly right now, and I didn't even go the full way up Ventoux today!

I did the same route the pros did yesterday, that went via the Ballon Sprint and the Petit KOM first, then joined the main climb at that point but only went up as far as Chalet Reynard. That took me 2 hours 7 minutes and based on that pace, the full Ventoux (going direct from the pens rather than this route) would be about 2hrs 35m.

Ventoux (or VenTop) was a loooong climb!

1h16m to Chalet Reynard and 1h 45m to the summit.

Slightly disjointed ride mainly down to me not checking the route properly before the ride. I thought the ride finished at Chalet Reynard and was quite surprised when the Flamme Rouge appeared from yesterday’s pro ride and I still had 7kms to go.

So I rode the first half of the climb To Chalet Reynard at a steady tempo and then stepped up the pace on the second half and gained about 100 places before realising I had another 6km to go. Kept pushing but tired in the last 3kms and lost about 35 of the places I’d gained In that time. Maybe if I’d kept the pacing a bit more even I wouldn’t have tired at the end.

I’ve been very impressed with the France routes. The course today certainly felt tough and the graphics up on the moonscape part of Ventoux were good. I‘ve only ridden Ventoux IRL from Malaucene, but a family member who has ridden from Bedoin said he though it was realistic.

Last week’s course Casse-Pates was good. A long flat section, with a couple of bumps followed by the Petit KOM was testing, but made for a good race. Zwift have done a good job.

I’m afraid I’ll have to miss the Irish League again tomorrow. I’m quizmaster tomorrow for a bunch of cycling mates. We normally meet up in a Croydon pub for a quiz every 2 weeks, but have been doing it virtually over Zoom since Lockdown began. I normally only just make it for the quiz and that’s probably not going to work tomorrow if I’m quizmaster!

Good effort that mate!

Shame you won't be riding. The Irish League is a lonely affair atm!!

I used to do karaoke in a few central Croydon pubs (Rach used to work in Leon House at the top of the High Street). Some interesting characters around as the night wears on

Frustrating ride up Ventoux with a work call just before chalet Reynard interrupting for some time . I rode while talking on the phone and then plodded up. Then some friends turned up unexpectedly and I had to get off the bike on the descent to speak to them. I had been looking to break 1h 20 but that will be another day. 1h 4m to CR and 1h 31 to Ventop .
It may sound strange but I really enjoyed the ride . It’s pretty faithful and the turn after chalet Reynard, especially with the dust blowing across and then the tower coming into view brought back great memories.

Astoria line 8 tomorrow, looking at the course there's less elevation than I thought although should enough to be pretty punchy - it's not that long a course either. Looking forward to it, do we have many b's on the start line?

I've been upgraded to cat. B since week 1 of the Team IRL League so I'll be on the start line....
Are we all wearing the same kit tomorrow night...?

I seem to recall it's very rolling so not much rest. Punchy little climbs that suit our style, but only micro rests until the next lump. Quite looking forward to it tomorrow - the C leader looks to be one of those 'B' riders who is just holding on to C cat. Gonna see if I can push him to go over the cat limit and send him up to you big boys  Only 2 sprint primes and they come quite late in the lap.
