Ah yes, I know the type
I think I've come to the realisation I'm not going to get to B through gaining extra power so I'm having to go the weight loss route 😢 Gonna be a slow burn but I lost 10+kg last year so just need to do what I did then for the next 10kg  Simple eh? :reading: At my height I should be 65kg so I don't really have any excuses ....

Astoria line 8 tomorrow, looking at the course there's less elevation than I thought although should enough to be pretty punchy - it's not that long a course either. Looking forward to it, do we have many b's on the start line?

I hope to make it tomorrow. That’s the last day of my hols, and I’ve a day out with the missus planned which culminates in a visit into Ikea 😭 I’ll be on the start line as long as I haven’t succumbed in the hotdog zone.

Tomorrow is also my last day “working from home”. Everyone summonsed back to the office from Tuesday. I shouldn’t complain as I’ve been lucky compared to a lot of peeps, but I haven’t missed the daily commute one bit.

I've been upgraded to cat. B since week 1 of the Team IRL League so I'll be on the start line....
Are we all wearing the same kit tomorrow night...?

Ive noticed the Team Ulster Zwifters - TUZ - also wear the retro kite maybe the orange kit was a better idea after all 🤭

I hope this passes for witty banter ..,
You suck...

Edit:Oh come on you keep gaining more of a lead... you’re killing me. I’ve tried twice to gain a a little it’s like you know and take off.,
@Randyberlin

You're welcome 😇

I've just this last few days changed the way I use the PM. I have gone to 4 part display on the edge unit, 3 second power avg, power avg for the ride, cadence and finally HR.

I set myself a target Avg power I want to hit and a cadence I want to maintain, then go from there. I'll see how I do with those metrics and adjust as needed.

I have no interest in speed or amount of ascent I have done. I think it'll sort itself out as I improve and I can still look back at the activity on Garmin Connect or Strava if needed.

If I can shed some of my excess blubbadge the speed should come and the climbs may be slightly easier.🤪

For those who have ridden/are planing to ride Ventoux, what trainer realism are you setting? I always prefer to ride steep steady climbs at 100% purely because as I get more tired then just to turn the pedals I have to push a decent wattage whereas a lower % setting I end up spinning at a tiny watt  Does mean knees start to scream at me though :B)

Rest day today ready for the Irish league race tomorrow so still need to try and find a slot to ride France  @Ketty, @Freelanderuk, we going for glory tomorrow night in C?
Oh yes - looking forward to it

I think I read something once (It sounds like something Linford Christie would say). That the last 5% is harder to get than the other 95% combined.

I wonder how much more any of us can gain. How close are we to our max potential. The equation would have to include life getting in the way versus time we can dedicate to something which should be kept in perspective. But then how much are we prepared to invest. Today I’m 75kg. I’m not changing my weight on zwift from 77kg because it fluctuates too far above that for me to consider it my daily weight. But for a Monday morning that’s very low for me. Too low probably. When is enough enough?

I digress...I suppose what I started off by meaning to say if I were you Carl I’d focus on small targets rather than the end destination. Then it just comes down to motivation doesn't it?

Anyways... good Monday to you all! From my favourite cafe in London. You’d walk straight past if you saw what it looked like from the outside. But the food, all cooked by one bloke, in the smallest kitchen in the world, is insane. Today’s special is sea bass and if you want it, you better get your name down before 8:30!

Crikey, slammed much?!

I have 20mm of spacer so not really what most people would call slammed but yes pretty low I guess. And Long arms and a lot of hours playing snooker as a kid have given me the ability to get pretty long and low for 6’3.

From memory of that course I think there’s one climb you really have to be switched on for. And isn’t the finish on a slight incline too? Other than that it’s prob my favourite New York course.
