Not me ... I've cancelled my Zwift for now (runs out in 3 weeks) as just struggling at the moment with racing and putting out full efforts with everything going. i'll come back maybe in the winter but for now I'm going to ride video courses (still trying out FulGaz on free trial but might switch to BRVR) - hoping this will help me get some motivation back.
I hope Fulgaz helps you get your enthusiasm back.

I tried BRVR and it was ok for a while. Then I picked up a virus in April last year, and I never got back into it. I realised that I missed the numbers of people on Zwift and the social interaction and variety of riding that brings. I've tried RGT since then (see my reply to @IrishAl ) but again it's really the lack of other users that kills it for me, even in a 3D world.

I've not tried Fulgaz or Rouvy, so I'll be interested to hear what you think, but so far my view is that Bkool is actually the best alternative overall. Video courses aren't as good and the 3D world, although better, still doesn't match up to Zwift, both in terms of numbers and variety of races and workouts.

I do wonder if a big part of your problem is you feel you've stood still or regressed on Zwift and that's a big source of frustration to you. I've also had that feeling, particularly when I had to take it easy over the New Year with my cardiac check. I know I struggled with motivation at that time.

Your home situation does make riding a turbo and Zwift races problematic, so actually in your case going off and doing something different in your own time without the constraints of Zwift race schedules may be the right thing for you to do.

Anyhow, hope it works for you and that you come back better and happier with life on Zwift.

I'm going to enter the 2nd stage of the WTRL Crit series at 13.45 tomorrow.

8 laps of the Volcano Circuit counter clock wise.

What is your early impression of FulGaz?
I tried RGT a couple of days ago. Chased down what I thought was another human being only to find it was a bot 😞 Graphics were sound and good enough for some different roads to try but I’d have a concern that I would miss the lack of social element or others to race against. I have also set the wife up on RGT - she was giving out the other day cosshe kept having wifi/ connection drop outs.
It's solo riding so certainly no social aspect. The videos are nice (even on my little laptop) but apparently are 4k and top notch on an Apple TV. Lots of ride choices, which is one reason I'm going to ride on there to try and keep me motivated on 'down' days. They seem to have all the classic climbs but also quiet a few UK, Oz etc routes that are more rolling. I believe the FulGaz community do set up leagues etc but not looked into that yet as not planning to race.

Seems very similar to BRVR, but with BRVR there were no flat courses (might be different since I used it about 12 months ago). Speed on FulGaz seems realistic and the feel too. No crazy fast speeds like on Zwift (I'm gonna miss that ). More in line with the speeds I see outside :okay:

They do a 14 day free trial but there is also a discount code online to push this to 30 days, so I'm using that at the moment.

also Racing in the morning Michael - 10am Cycling Ireland race (open to all) - it has good numbers in it, and @BurningLegs new friend Mr Doggart is also racing it.

Maybe tomorrow will suit better, 5 is a bit close to bedtime for the baby, I'll decide once she has her nap (or doesn't, as is often the case!)

I tried RGT once and really didn't like it, as I think @Del C said, I tried ventoux and found it very dull. My graphics card is a bit crap so I think zwift probably suits it in that way, maybe if I had an upgrade I'd be more wowed. I also didn't feel like I was going uphill? Everything looked like a false flat. Might give it another go sometime.

Whatever happened with CVRCade? Is it still going?

Did they ever recover from dcrainmakers initial review?

Haven't seen it in a while. Used to pop up on the wahoo YouTubers feeds (I assume they were paid promotions) but haven't even seen it there for a while.

Edit; still being damned with faint praise

You are right, it's partly the stagnation and me struggling to set a plan as my riding always comes second to caring. I can usually ride during a normal day, but what I can't always do is plan exactly when I can ride and hence the choice of races available at the times I can do are sometimes limited.

For racing (and the social aspect) Zwift is second to non for sure and I will be back. For now though I just want something I can jump on and ride without the pressure of having to perform - pushing at 100% takes a lot out of us, but I can't afford to get off the bike and be too knackered to then do quite physical support for Rach. This means I either have to try and hold back a bit when racing or go full out and hope we don't have an emergency later that I can't deal with very well! Safer and more sensible for now to just pootle on a different platform where I'm not tempted to race.

Not exactly the end of the world so all good and I will get to 'ride' all over the globe in some amazing places that I can't get to in real life :okay:

Finally I rode up Ventoux, the bottom at Malaucene was ok, but as I rode up the mountain it was just monotonous scenery
Its because you cant turn and look at the views across the valley with a simulation. I remember how amazing the views were when I rode up from Malaucene

Carl,
Why not ride to a training plan? You know I will recommend SF but that’s as much it being a change of scenery and expectation and not feeling you have to race.

The thought of doing a training plan this time of year xx(

It’s the curse of riding on the turbo that your activity is dominated by numbers. Maybe get out on that nice bike if yours when you get the chance Carl. Just pootle mate. It’s such cheap therapy.
