The Tron is far faster than the MTB on the road and vice versa for gravel/dirt.

The question is is there enough road either gravel or tarmac to benefit a change.

See, I told you it was conclusive:laugh:
Yes you told me and all of them was obvious as well ^_^

I was going to look into either the Tacx bike or the Wahoo Bike.

Both of which have far too many teething problems to face sending one of these back and forth. I've spent the money on other things now.:biggrin:
I'm more tempted by the wattbike Atom which seems to have far less issues.

In all seriousness it’s not a case of sending it back and fourth. That is what I’m refusing to do. The belt has snapped. Much like a chain going on a bike I need a tool to replace it. Garmin Uk ubloke Garmin everywhere else want me to send the bike back to be fixed by them. So either they send me the tool or I get my money back. It’s pretty simple really.

Looks can be deceiving.

Really? I sort of hoped the relative simplicity of it might make it a bit more robust. Basically I want a nokia 3310 direct drive smart bike

haha! Bloody loved my Nokia...

Unfortunately none of it is simple and that the problem. I’m running about at the mo so can only really manage short sarcastic responses. But I owned an Atom and I know someone who still owns one. If you’re really looking at seriously then let me know. I think I could talk you out of it fairly quickly if I had more time!

Ive not heard or I keep hearing of problems with many of these bikes. More so Tacx and Wahoo.

The only one that doesn't seem to get a bad press is the original Wattbike. But its not automatically variable resistance, you shove a lever to increase or reduce resistance.

Just picked some of the recent messages to reply to.

I'll go with the suggestion that we pencil in Friday 12 June and Wednesday 24. I've quoted @<Tommy> and @IrishAl 's messages but I know there were 2 or 3 a few pages back saying Friday worked better for them so let's try these as the next 2 and see how they work. We can change things if we need to for future races.

I think we should use the same circuit for the next couple of races, then maybe move to a new route after that. I've been helping to organise my road club's lockdown virtual TT and we've been doing about 3 to 4 rides on one route, and then we move on. That seems to work and keeps interest.

I think we've got enough potential riders to keep the teams slightly fluid. If everyone was riding, I think I'd stay with the same squads as the last race, but if the numbers are unbalanced, we can move people between teams. We've got a fair spread of people within lower A, B, C and D that it should work.

On Al's last point depending on people's racing commitments and maybe after summer, we could possibly pick up Mondays or Tuesdays, but I know that a lot of people on here are keen to keep the DBR type league thing going so we'll have to see how that shapes up.

Finally, @bridgy seems to have been busy lately and hasn't been on here very much. We've always relied on Paul to set up our Meet Ups. Maybe we should all check that we're following each other on Zwift, because that would allow any of us to set up a Meet Up and take the pressure away from Paul.

I've started following a few CC riders on Zwift ( the ones who rode the DBR on Wednesday night ) in hope of a meet up ride at some point in the future, feel free to follow me or discard me! Anyone else wanting to follow me please pm me & I'll send you my Zwift details.... Ride on 👍

As someone who’s had numerous wahoo kickrs Andy you’ll know that problems and smart trainers isn’t a problem mutually exclusive to smart bikes.

I think generally I’m fairly even handed with these things as I don’t attach too much emotion to them. And I’d say the neo bike on the whole should be excellent. It’s just got some small issues that need sorting. Customer support is probably their biggest issue right now. Time will tell...

The original wattbike is terrible for zwift.

I know that Elite Drivo 2 doesn't look very tempting because it looks bulky and it's not futuristic like Tacx Neo for example but it's been work perfectly all those 18 months what i have owned. Sometimes i need to clean groove belt if there is any sign of squeak, after that it is silence and no need to do that very often. Happy owner so far.
