Another brutal TTT tonight.

Course was Greatest London Flat. We were down to 6 riders tonight from our normal 8 so it was going to be full on for nearly 32km.

Got my start right again and was 2nd out of the pen. Unfortunately, one of our riders, who is new to the team and a strong rider, had a terrible start and was quickly 10 seconds behind us, so we had to slow with one of the team dropping back to pace him back on. That was along the lumpy starting section past Blackfriars, and through the underpass. By the time we were on Embankment we were all back together and it felt like we were hammering it.

Not much to report after that as we rode in a tight group through London, down through the Underground station and out on to Richmond Park. We got slightly stretched on the 8% section but kept it together and were soon heading back down the Underground section and back into London. The inevitable split happened on the horrible ramp up the escalator. One of our guys was dropped as we hit the escalator. I got to the top with the group but then went pop as we hit the entrance hall. Silly place to hit a wall!

Shouted to the front 4 to go, and off they went to the line while the two of us tapped our way home. Team finished 89th out of 175 teams in Frappe class with a time of 45.16.

Checked my time and power on Zwiftpower after the ride and could see why I blew up after the escalator climb. Best ever 20 minute power at 271w at 3.7w/kg. Didn't get an FTP upgrade so it must have been a marginal improvement on last week but my legs feel like they've had a real workout tonight.
Good work @Del C , @bobinski i really like that course, we had a bit of a nightmare as one of our normal c riders got bumped up to B cat on Wednesday, therefore, we knew we be put into frappe once we had finished. we did 45.53 which would have got us 13th in latte but didn't really cut it in Frappe. really liked that one, Watopia Hilly Reverse next week

Course is too flat for my liking. 45-27 for the 4 of our team that finished with me. We overtook 3 teams but one wouldn’t move and rode within us, dropped them came back at us and again mixed with us before blowing up.As they slowed we seemed to as well. It was really frustrating. I was hoping for sub 45. 269w at 3.6.
I did blow up spectacularly on the sprint 😁
We had the same problem with a South African team as we approached the 2nd underground entrance on the way out of Richmond Park.

We overtook them, then they came back and rode amongst us. We had to push in the tunnel to get rid of them. Not sure that helped me on the escalator!

I use iPad for Zwift - is it easy to swap on there? I.e. how do you stop dead etc
go into the menu, then jump inTo the pairing screen - that brings you to a stop fast...then back to garage for the bike swap.
edit...if your doing the swap going uphill then you should stop quick enough so not worth going into pairing screen and increasing the risk Of hitting the wrong button. Also practice makes perfect so do lots of swaps pre race as you’ll be surprised how many times you can mess it up...I usually forgot to hit the “equip” button after picking the new bike.

Sorry chaps I’ve been Super busy at work this week Including a live tv appearance (well voice on tv) on Northern Ireland assembly tv 😴So I’ve missed about 10 pages of chat. Was there a decision on hare and hounds race tonight?

Good work in the TTT last night Del. My team is sitting 9th in Frappe in the provisional results so PL beckons again next week. It was a tough night as I did support car duties for our Espresso premier league team at 6;15 then straight into my race. The missus was giving me some look I tell ya.

Nothing tonight I'm afraid.

I've been busy this week and I'm out this afternoon and then doing a video quiz thing with friends tonight.

I did ask for people's views on Wednesday v Friday and got slightly more in favour of Friday, which is in line with the original vote we took. Truth is its impossible to find a date that works for everyone, either because of family issues or being involved in a league series, and obviously we have both.

I was going to suggest we do the next one on a Friday at 7, like the last one, and then maybe run the following one on a Wednesday, so that everyone gets a crack at riding.

Cheers both, the one I meant though was the one that someone had produced in excel by the looks of things?
Yeah sorry about that. I've been a tad busy and forgot to update the CC league, particularly with me missing stages recently!

Here it is. (Hopefully) all up to date. Let me know if I've missed anything off.

It's extremely tight at the top, with just two points separating the top three. But with 25, 20 and 17 points awarded to the top 3 finishers, it looks like it will be winner-takes-all in the final stage next week! Let battle commence :boxing::boxing::boxing:

Well done @Del C - great to hear it was your best 20min power. B team will hopefully be rocking in the next CC TT :okay:

You'll be in the A's, the way you're going

That’s cool Del. I would find tonight difficult to make as it happens as well due to a busy week with evening races and work etc. So I’ll not use up any brownie points this evening. Let’s get a couple of dates out and hopefully most people can factor them in. Will we go for a race next Friday, 12th June and then another on Weds 24th?

I can't commit 💯 but agree we should try and have a concrete date(s) to aim for
