As someone who’s had numerous wahoo kickrs Andy you’ll know that problems and smart trainers isn’t a problem mutually exclusive to smart bikes.

I think generally I’m fairly even handed with these things as I don’t attach too much emotion to them. And I’d say the neo bike on the whole should be excellent. It’s just got some small issues that need sorting. Customer support is probably their biggest issue right now. Time will tell...

The original wattbike is terrible for zwift.

I've a fair few house renovation things to do (hoped would be started by now, but covid) so want to make sure I've that all paid for before I look at an upgrade but, yeah, a smart bike is the plan.

It might be a year away yet so their may be some new competitors/second generation models out by then so hopefully options are a bit better but will maybe touch base closer to the time. Id looked at the dcrainmaker comparison of the three and thought the wattbike was the least gimmicky (still not the best, but did the relatively basic functions well)

I think it is just antiquated in operation, but has good power meter, which Zwift can use. I have a friend who uses his on Zwift. I'll have to ask him if he used it for his 'Everesting ride'

I was going to look into either the Tacx bike or the Wahoo Bike.

Both of which have far too many teething problems to face sending one of these back and forth. I've spent the money on other things now.:biggrin:

So was I. In fact I placed an order for the Tacx Bike Smart back in October 2018 and cancelled it in April 2019 when it still wasn't available despite all the promises. I may have another look once they settle down a bit or I may just upgrade to a smart turbo like the Neo 2T.

Pretty good ZZRC Approx 1,5w/kg 60min group ride. Little bit surprised that i improved my 60min PR ride on Tick Tock with mild gout symptoms. Need to decrease my beer drinking, it doesn't do good for my joints .
Gout is not nice, I suffer from that every now and then. Best for me is to stay hydrated, and pop those ibruprofen :okay:

Really? I sort of hoped the relative simplicity of it might make it a bit more robust. Basically I want a nokia 3310 direct drive smart bike
I'm on the Facebook page and it's very much positive on there. Not seen anything specific mentioned about bugs etc. When they first came out the gear changes were slow to react which made racing in Zwift difficult, but that was fixed ages ago.

Apart from the slow gear changes (which I thought had been fixed) what other issues are there? Not seen anything specific mentioned on the Facebook page for WB Atom.

I'm really disappointed with the Tacx smartbike as I was hoping it would be as bullet proof as the original NEO but alas, seems not. The only comfort I guess is it's not as expensive as the Kickr bike

I'm more tempted by the wattbike Atom which seems to have far less issues.

It’s v v noisy if that matters too you.

Did another Crit City race today with the Beta sandbagging applied. Quite a big field (50 ish), at least one A and a fair few B riders signed up. A few riders were coned

I came 10th, but time between 1st place and me was 4 seconds - I was dropped on the final sprint (again :banghead: )

Quite pleased with me race although again could post anything near B numbers :surrender: I thought I may have done today as it felt like I was working really hard, but, alas not. Anyway, video below if anyone interested.
