thanks everyone for organising and taking part - this is what i signed up for -a good work out with a laugh with friends
with the banter continuing thru the race , with a" nom nom nom" when we passed a forth man that nearly made me drop my tea and scones , then as we were about a mile out adamski infiltrated our signal and was saying how easy things were - made me put down the suduko puzzle and try for a bit , but too late - we might try next time ^_^
well done all

I also had to shoot off a bit sharpish at the end and not had chance to comment. I have to say I enjoyed that a lot more than I had expected to - it was fun. It was the first time I had used Discord and that adds quite a lot. Having a DS is definitely the way forward. I posted pretty good average power for me but had a bit more in the tank - these events are good for average power as you don't kill yourself chasing groups trying to lose you. Having said that, I got left behind right at the start and nackered myself getting back on.

Definitely up for another one :okay:

I was ready to pull the earpiece out when I heard the infiltrator in our discord lol. I was at max at the time for the last effort as I was sure I could see a team in our sights but it must have been the sweat blinding me.

As for a next event - maybe we could make it a monthly event and use our monthly leagues as a guide to any changes in groups. Just a suggestion.

I’m up for trying different options. I think like Bridgy we should do at least one more run on that course just to build up a better picture of timings.

I’d really like to make the handicap races a once a week thing like they used to be. Or at least do them on a regular basis. But preferably not on Fridays if possible. lots of people have other racing commitments on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at the mo so it’s a little tricky. But turbo racing on a Friday consistently will be a tough sell going forward for me I think.

I agree we should do one more on this rote to fine tune the handicap and use this as a baseline for other routes, maybe using the difficulty scores as @IrishAl suggests - then a mix of routes.

Friday is ok at the moment, but once lockdown ends it won't work for me. I also prefer before 7pm ideally although I know many others like that time.

Weekly might be a bit often - maybe fortnightly?

OK, who is racing DBR Wahoo league on Monday? No CC signups as of yet. It is Innsbruck Ring - which I really like as a race venue. Shall us B's use Discord now we are all Discord veterans?

Now signed up for c race. Definitely up for using discord if everyone else is

I agree with all the above and thanks Del for sorting it all... but could I make one little tiny request? Could we have one pan flat event? I know hills make it interesting but now we have some timings it might just mix it up if we have an all out drag race. And of course I want one cos I'm a fatty and I'm at a disadvantage on the climbs but for once it might be that I can assist my team beyond the first climb.

Anyway, as always, I'll do what the majority wants, but for once think of the fatty :becool::boxing::laugh:
+1

I'd probably get dropped by the C power guys on a flat ride but, I'm up for this too to mix the style up a bit.

It would be good to try a some different courses. I wonder if the difficulty rating that Zwift Insider applies to courses could be of any use to help factor handicap times.

I picked out a rider from each of the first three in each group out of interest to see the time gaps tumble, or more ebb away. 🔽

it looks like maybe another 2 km or so and B’s would also have made the catch as they were gaining fast. Well planned Paul - setting the distance just so they would fall short.
Nah, we had it fully under control. We took the power off towards the end to lull B and D into a false sense of security before storming through. Honest guv

The Final Km

Wow D we were so close. Can’t believe we decided to slow up to let the others catch up and make it interesting 🤣😂

A big thanks from me too @Del C and @bridgy. I enjoyed that last night despite being dropped half way round

I agree that it would be good to do that course again next time with the tweaked handicap times to try and get a close 4-way finish before attempting a different course.

I would also prefer the next attempt not to be on a Friday but will obviously defer to the majority. It will be a hard sell if it was a regular Friday thing
