Well I guess 1 out of 2 is a start

Special shout to @Add. Who has been Particularly lazy lately, even by his shameless standards! But probably through blind stubbornness as much as anything else managed to make it through to the end while simultaneously fighting off grim death. Well done bud 👍.
A glowing condemnation of my ability, thankyou Tommy. ^_^

The way I see it the category system on zwift naturally divides us. But the handicap races bring us together as a group. To be honest I’ve never been a fan of including category boundaries in chain race league tables for that reason. I find it divisive. Where as the handicaps are all inclusive.

I've just looked up what time gaps ZHR Hare and Hounds use. It is for the 41km Watopia Flat course (4 laps). They use 7 min, 3 min, 2 min as the gaps from D-C-B-A. That route is 41km long and 239m of climbing. Our route was about 30km long and about the same climbing. So if we ratio the gaps to match the distance - D should have had 5 mins 15 secs lead over C - C should have had 2 mins 15 sec lead over B and B should have had 1 min 30 secs lead over A.

I think another run with the times Del suggested should give a clearer picture. BCD were close, 'A' probably a little nearer to B start should give them a better incentive to chase a little harder.

Using yesterdays times a flatter course would have seen Ds win, conversely a hillier course B's or A will have a greater chance of catching all in front. So timings wise I reckon they are quite close to perfect already, maybe just a handful of seconds.

In reality though, a pack or individuals have good and bad days, so minor tweaks probably don't effect the race. Yesterday I was cooking, and know personally I don't like heat

Can I just point out that the "A" team has only two actual A cat riders in it - Pete who is coming back from injury and Lee who is only cat A because he tripped, fell and did a 20 minute crit race which carelessly tipped him over the line to A cat by about 0.03 w/kg!

Also, the D group was 40% made up of borderline C/D's as well, so I think ALL of our groups are slightly closer together in abilities than the typical Zwift race categories.

One thing we may have to do though is move people between groups at times. When I go back to commuting, I won't be able to take place in any of these events, leaving the D group down to just 4 entrants, while other groups might end up with as many as 7 or 8 if people who couldn't take part in the first race come back. It is important that each group has as close to the same number of starters as possible so that no one team has a massive draft advantage over the others.

Nah, Lee is Pukka A cat, Pete, hes got fresh legs resting up, Tommy he's just refusing to acknowledge he's an A cat, and Al, he's resting in Bs at the moment

There is a clear divide between Bob, Del, and et al and those above. Anyway its not a true A cat' just 'cyclechatters' category.

We could call your category, Luke Warm B's in honour of Lee's obvious doppelganger looks to 'Cool hand Luke'^_^

The hare and hounds calculations are based on the c group having a lot more people than d group generally (as would be the case- the d group actually had a few c riders in it). Our a group was mainly b riders as well
