Had a look for Red jerseys for the B team. These are the only 2 I can find.

What do you think team. Back of the Fluoro 2 looks mainly pink with blue stripes. Back of Basic 5 looks pretty much like the front.

Initially I thought Fluoro 2, but I'm warming to Basic 5.
I like Fluro because it reminds me of retro flamboyant 90's jerseys. They say it was a lost decade but it was one of the best.

Ordered one from eBay now. It’s an unbranded one for less than £10 but I see what you mean about it being one piece. Estimated delivery 18th - 21st May so might be lucky and have it for racing on Monday, or my superglue fix might hold on Friday and still be viable to race on Monday
If you don't get the strap in time, just ask the misses to hold the strap against her arm when you race Monday .... it'll register a HR for 'you', and everyone will think you're super fit as you push big watts but your HR stays nice and controlled

Edit: i'm joking and not advocating cheating :cuppa:

Superglue and some gorilla tape all the way round your chest. :okay: Enjoy the ripping it off bit

Maybe Pedersen had HRM issues when he died for a moment during in a race?

Also - props to Wahoo. I emailed them a photo and asked if they could ship me a replacement strap. Less than 30 minutes later they replied asking for a shipping address to send a new strap to so I’ve now got two straps on the way! Fingers crossed Wahoo send me a complete unit:okay:

Here's a question for the clever bike tech bods on and triggered from a 'debate' on facebook at the moment ... the debate (for the god knows how many times!) is around the accuracy of power pedals vs the NEO (actually the 2T in this case). The poster has shown that his NEO is reporting power quite a bit lower than the pedals and so he's using the pedals as power on Zwift.

I think I'm correct in saying some power will be lost to the drive chain, so seeing the NEO report lower numbers compared to pedals is not that surprising and both power figures are (probably) correct, kind of.

Question is, why would using the pedals be wrong? Why is it not ok to use the NEO for resistance and the pedals for power? Assuming the rider also uses the pedals outside, and the pedals are accurate, why should someone use a power source that shows a lower figure?

Whenever this is brought up on FB there are always those that argue that the lower power should be used because ... well, I don't know really as there is no real evidence that the pedals are more or less accurate than the NEO.

I'd have thought it's better for the rider, if they use the same pedals outside, to use the pedals for indoor riding too. Yes, No?

Not meant to be an argument post, just interested why the assumption seems to be that the lower number is always the more accurate, or at least the one to use.

I saw someone else bomb past with the Macedonia flag and just thought it looked ace. I did try and strike up a conversation with another chap flying the flag but he completely blanked me. You’d think Macedonia’s number 1 would get a little more respect! :headshake:
Do they not know who you are?!?! Kids of today :headshake:

I was so disappointed the Somalia flag didn't work as I wanted to be a cycling pirate 🏴‍☠️

Maybe that’s what he thought too

As for pedals vs trainer power - I’d want consistent power indoor/outdoor so would want to use the pedals even if they were the lower power source tbh.
From the numerous debates on FB, it appears the pedals usually show a higher value than the trainer (at least when the trainer is a flavour of the NEO). But yeah, I'd be like you, if I had pedals I used outside and I could be bothered to switch them to the trainer bike, then I'd use the same indoors and out.

Just wondering though why some on FB insinuate that it's wrong to use the pedals indoors if they show a higher power value than the NEO. Are any trainers/pedals ever as accurate as quoted? I'm pretty sure my NEO2 reports low .... I can't believe I'm so weak

Its all about consistency Carl. Yes there is a small advantage by using Pedal PM, with much less losses compared to reading power at the rear wheel.

If you're obsessive about comparing every single Watt from outdoors to indoors you need to use the same recording device.

For Zwift racing I would assume 5-10 Watts is useful:okay:

It depends if he's racing against me. If he is then the lower one must be used. If he's not he can use the higher ones!

I have resisted the temptation to stick my Assioma’s on the NEO bike for a few extra watts. I do think the legacy of criticism of those that use pedals for power over their NEO is use of pedals whose accuracy has been questioned.

I think if I had the pedals I’d probably use them to be honest. Unless it’s too much hassle to keep chopping and changing which might get boring quite quickly!

I think there’s a few militant neo owners on their Facebook page who seem to have put themselves on a bit of a self righteous pedestal. But that’s the internet for you isn’t it?
