the best way of keeping team tactics to theirselves and not leaking them out is not to discuss them on here
Team A is taking this to the next level and we are not talking to each other at all ! - unless it’s just me they ain’t talking to
We will know our members though as we will be the ones all wearing something different and setting off in different directions at different times 😁
- if of course we turn up

The first rule of Cyclechat TTT tactics is do not talk about Cyclechat TTT tactics.

Ooops, seems like he messed up his pace/wkg. Well, that is one less rider to worry about Monday C-guys.

Here's a question for the clever bike tech bods on and triggered from a 'debate' on facebook at the moment ... the debate (for the god knows how many times!) is around the accuracy of power pedals vs the NEO (actually the 2T in this case). The poster has shown that his NEO is reporting power quite a bit lower than the pedals and so he's using the pedals as power on Zwift.

I think I'm correct in saying some power will be lost to the drive chain, so seeing the NEO report lower numbers compared to pedals is not that surprising and both power figures are (probably) correct, kind of.

Question is, why would using the pedals be wrong? Why is it not ok to use the NEO for resistance and the pedals for power? Assuming the rider also uses the pedals outside, and the pedals are accurate, why should someone use a power source that shows a lower figure?

Whenever this is brought up on FB there are always those that argue that the lower power should be used because ... well, I don't know really as there is no real evidence that the pedals are more or less accurate than the NEO.

I'd have thought it's better for the rider, if they use the same pedals outside, to use the pedals for indoor riding too. Yes, No?

Not meant to be an argument post, just interested why the assumption seems to be that the lower number is always the more accurate, or at least the one to use.
Afaik there is no distinction about where the power is measured on any software platform. Power is just Power. So any difference between readings from different parts of the bike is just not considered.

100w measured with pedals is not then converted to 97w for a direct drive or 96w for a wheel on trainer for each platform to take account of drivetrain losses. The reverse is same I would think.

As to the morals of using one source over another I'm . Get everyone using the buffalo bike with standard wheels and 100% realism on trainer settings, with the same height and weight registered to level the playing field in Zwift and I say yes to using only the trainer power readings, unless it is proven that the make/model of the trainer over or under reads significantly. Otherwise HTFU and just get on with it.

Will make the race Monday interesting now. No obvious winner so race tactics in the pack will almost certainly change. Be interesting to see how well he does in B ... I think he is really a B rider who was an expert at managing his numbers - now he doesn't need to, he may well push his max!

His 95% of 20 min. at 3,4wkg put him into B with just 0,04wkg over the limit. ^_^

I can do @Ketty's for him (he'll give me his log ons I'd think) so it's up to @Marino.g & @steverob to see if they can get the jersey :becool:
And after all the trouble I went to, to get a colour co-ordinated blue kit ready! Don't you know that adds an extra 0.0000001 w/kg?

I think I may have already got that jersey in my garage, but if not, I can add it fairly quickly.
