Crit city up next, never done it but I imagine it'll just be a flat out flat drag race? Also not sure where they will put in sprints as there are so many laps.
Each lap is about 2.2km (I think) and there are 2 sprint banners per lap - lots of points to be won :okay: It's flat, will a little lump, followed by a little down. Definitely one to get in the blob early and stay towards the front. Gonna be high powered and frantic :wahhey:

Will suit the rest of you more than me .... I'll just be hanging on for dear life :wacko:

Never done this either.

I'm hoping my crappy start doesn't catch me out here. From what I've read it seems like that could be fatal on this course!

Yep - if you don't get a start into the blob, and it goes, you'll never see it again. There are usually races during the week, last about 22 mins, jump on one before Tuesday to see how manic it is. I think the only saving grace is, once you're in the lead group, because it's so flat and fast, it's hard to get dropped unless you lose concentration (or get stuck in sticky draft!).

A course definitely suited to the more powerful riders who can up the power for short burst and recover quickly to do it again 2 mins later :wacko:

I'm trying to work on my short term power but right now I think I'd be categorised more as a diesel!

Anyone got any tips here? I've been looking at interval workouts and VO2 max stuff

I've updated our CC Danish mini-league. Remember that only your top five points count towards your total, so things could start to change a bit.

Sounds like next weeks course may suit me. I've not tried a crit race on Zwift before so should be fun.

In these 'testing times', I wonder if Zwift will let us add a temporary second account ? Mrs F would possibly want to use her hybrid on Zwift I can see as the gym is a silly idea at the moment.

It's silly there isn't some sort of family pass. Although zwift would have no way of knowing if she just used your account surely

This is basically it. There is a small lump which I think maxes out at around 6%. It is very short - guessing 20 seconds effort. I find most laps the pace tends to be upped at that point - key is to keep the power down for a short while after cresting the hill so not to get dropped. It’s nothing like the Innsbruckring legsnapper.

I agree that Zwift should have a family account. I think this feature is asked for years, at least i haven't heard that there is any family account yet.

@Norry1 is your man .....

But for my 2 pennies, I'd think intervals would be the go to. Something like 30 secs higher, 30 secs rest x 10 ... rest for 10 mins and do this 2 or 3 times

When I do this, my 'high' is 270 watts, my 'rest' in intervals is 170 watts. The 10 mins rest inbetween is about 150 watts.
