Well British Cycling and British Masters have both cancelled all races for the forseeable and as Tommy says, Tour of Cambridgeshire is off. All totally understandable of course.

Tom, my coach has written to all his riders and asked if they want to suspend coaching. I have decided to do so and re-evaluate in September.

Which means I am back to Zwift Racing

Hi guys, remember me :hello:

sorry to hear that Martin but as you say inevitable.
Interesting to see how far up the B’s you now are and whether A beckons 😁

I reckon about half way up B and a long, long, long way off A

🤔

your high is how much above your ftp?
I did write 'high' and not high ;)

My FTP is 245 ish, so 270 is about 110%

Need to look at the workout as it might be 1 min on/1 min off ..... so over 30 intervals i'm at 110% for 30 mins. Something like that.

I make it up as I go along ^_^

Hope you guys are all well in these trying times. I've spent the last couple of days fire-fighting work stuff, and setting up working from home, and dealing with family stuff too - really stressful and worrying all round. But I know a lot of people are having a really hard time, and a worse time than me either with work/income or the illness itself (it seems if the virus doesn't get you the measures to stop it will!)

So at least we have Zwift and a place here to talk nonsense! As things start to settle into a bit more of a sort of routine again (hopefully) I'll try and do some more rides and races with you guys again. I'm planning to do TOW stage 3 at 5pm - group A Road to Sky - if anyone else is around?

I try to avoid much as possible too hard training because i think if i put myself too limit my immune system is obviously more vulnerable for viruses when body is tired. I wish better and careful times for everyone as well.

True - but I think the real issue is when you over-train (rather than a single hard event) and leave yourself depleted. I guess we each have to balance the "risk" of lowering immunity with the mental boost we get and the improved long term fitness. Not easy.

Oh bollox!

Race tactics have just changed to seeing if I can catch up with @LBHIFI and @Brusgaard and hang on for grim death!
well done on promotion ! It might be a bit harder but I am sure the only way to get better is to try against people going a bit faster than you want - you may blow up trying to keep up but you will notice you get a bit further each time - you will soon find a friendly wheel

i'm a bit "fook it" .... we all have to die at some stage. I'd rather try to live as full a life as possible, and go out with a bang, then hide in the house to die of old age having not lived. Certainly won't be giving up Zwifting, that's for sure. If the virus gets me, then I just hope I've put enough points on the board to get the team in silver first :wahhey:

Wife and I are mostly self isolation at the best of times as she's mostly housebound these days .... glad to see the rest of the country is following our lead

I am not gonna give up Zwifting as well. Tomorrow i put myself to another level, i replace my worn chainring to new one and kick the chain even tighter and let my power output speak stronger than ever :training:
