You should try the Danish league race if you get the chance @<Tommy>. I've found them really competitive and they have got a lot out of me. On our day we're both towards the pointy end of B cat but I haven't yet managed a top 30 finish (from approx 70 starters). With your ability to climb strongly as well as put out good sustained power on the flats you should do well tonight. I've been able to stay with the front group initially but always get dropped on a climb eventually

That reminds me - I need to sign up for tonight's race.

I’ve not really raced at all the last few weeks to be honest Pete. I flirted with being promoted to A cat for a short time but it coincided with a realisation I really needed to start putting in more miles unless I just wanted to be a zwift one hour specialist! And with that league starting so close to the end of the other one I wasn’t at all motivated to join it. If they run something similar next year and you and the regular cat B guys sign up I probably will skip the zwift championship and join 👍

No doubt you guys have received the email confirming the cancellation of the tour of Cambridge. Not much of a surprise I guess.

I’ve not raced any of the races so far so it’s be against the odds wouldn’t it! 😄

I might well race another race though. See how I feel in a bit 👍

You said in an earlier post you’d have “to be careful” not to go over the power limit. I suppose that is partly what I was referring to when I said it wouldn’t be something I’d subscribe to. More out of not having the motivation rather than moral judgment. Each to their own. Good luck tonight! 👍👍
I did get what you was referring to, but to me there is a difference between being careful not to flip over by a watt or 2 when you're on your max, and actively staying well within your capacity. For me that's the difference between freewheeling a bit down hill, or sitting in a draft, rather than pulling at the front ... or, pushing hard to get into a group and doing enough to stay there, against being dropped and riding hard on my own (but for no race gain).

If I go over cat limits, I want to go over by 10 watts plus ... not just a measly 1 watt  Thankfully, on flatter courses, I struggle to hold B watts anyway.

You can still join the races anyway even if you've not done others. Your time will go to the team's if you score points. I missed the 1st C cat race, but I'm still adding points to the team from now on :okay:

Yeah I should imagine the closer you are to line the more painful it is when you topple over it!

Like I say I prefer to just roll the dice rather than ride to stay in a specific cat. But each to their own 👍. It is a flawed system.

No - not yet. Bit of a blow, but hardly a surprise like you say. hey ho ... there is always next year

tour of Yorkshire now too... I’ll stop posting every event that emails me. It’s inevitable.

Sorry, just couldn't mount the motivation to go any further after the first sprint :B).
I was in perfect position with not far to the sprint, but then I got too far up front and eased slightly. That was the end of my sprint chances, as I dropped 30 places before I could react. Think I got a top 10.

No worries, fatty at the back secured the 3rd point.

A few too many hills for my liking on that course!

Looking at the parcours I was only going to have a chance of getting points by being in the first sprint. With the countdown starting I realised that Zwift had changed my bike to the Zwift Carbon so I made a frantic change in the garage to the Tron bike. Good job I had lined up early at the head of the course as I rejoined the race just at the back. I gave it a lot to make my way up the field and contest the sprint and think I got 4th (is it just the first 3 that got points?).

After the start and the sprint it was no surprise that I got dropped by the lead bunch on the long climb that came soon after and I took it easy until the 2nd bunch caught me up. @Milzy was in this group and it was good to ride with a friendly face and I stayed in this group until 8km from the finish when the cumulative hills took their toll and I was dropped again.

I soloed for the next 5km and then a small bunch dragged me to the finish where we had a mini sprint but I didn't have the fight in me to put much into that.

A good hard race!

Well done @Milzy - It;s a shame you didin;t get into the first bunch as you looked strong in the 2nd group (particularly the climbs where it made all the difference) :okay:

Looks like you cat C lads all had a good race :bravo::bravo:

Can anyone explain, why the times on ZP are way off for all riders? The same thing happened last week, I think, but not in other rides/races.

The 2 finishing just ahead of me, was 30-40 seconds behind me in-game, and I remember overtaking Oxlund, whereas Neuhaus never caught me..

I was not feeling my best out there tonight. Not sure why, but legs felt dead, chest tight. I attacked the first KoM and at about 1/2 way point I was 2nd, then legs just popped! Thankfully @Del C saved my ride by giving me a wheel until i got my 2nd, or was it 3rd, wind :okay:

Thanks to @mjd1988 disrupting his group we managed to hold them off. We picked up, and dropped a couple of riders but could not drop last last one. I attacked him 4 or 5 times and the bugger kept holding on. I finally got him on the sprint over the line ..... only to find he wasn't registered on ZP so it was a hollow victory

Really good ride Del - a pleasure riding with you. You looked strong, but then you never can tell from an avatar how much effort someone is putting in

Great riding too Michael and Chris - we all came in top 20 :wahhey:
