@Norry1 is your man .....

But for my 2 pennies, I'd think intervals would be the go to. Something like 30 secs higher, 30 secs rest x 10 ... rest for 10 mins and do this 2 or 3 times

When I do this, my 'high' is 270 watts, my 'rest' in intervals is 170 watts. The 10 mins rest inbetween is about 150 watts.

🤔

your high is how much above your ftp?

Hi everyone. Been full of cold for a bit, have I missed anything? Any races on Tues & Thurs yet or are we still doing that other series?

And are we all well?

Not sure I'm an expert - but just look up Vo2 Max intervals. There will be loads of workouts on Zwift to address this. I assume you don't mean sprint short term?

Well British Cycling and British Masters have both cancelled all races for the forseeable and as Tommy says, Tour of Cambridgeshire is off. All totally understandable of course.

Tom, my coach has written to all his riders and asked if they want to suspend coaching. I have decided to do so and re-evaluate in September.

Which means I am back to Zwift Racing

Hi guys, remember me :hello:

That's a shame. You looked like you were on track for a great year.

If I check out my power figures on Zwiftpower the noticeable issue is my 15 and 30 second power and to a lesser degree my 1 minute power. My 5 minute and 20 minute power is ok and puts me at the top of C or bottom of B.

When racing, my weaknesses are my start and often the start of short, sharp climbs, such as the leg snapper on the Innsbruck course or the 17/18% section on the Yorkshire route. So, yesterday on the Yorkshire climb Carl dropped me on the initial ramp butI pulled him back over the length of the climb. At Innsbruck, I didn't manage to close the gap by the top of the climb and had to chase back on during the descent.

So, I've been trying to see what I can do to improve my start and also to hold my power better going into a climb. On flat/rolling routes and long climbs I seem to be able to go into a diesel mode and just keep chugging away.

Welcome back, but sorry for you and the work you've put in for this year. That's a bummer.

Have you spoken to the Peterborough hotel yet? I'm sure we were both checked in at the same one. I haven't tried for a refund yet.

Hmmm - that seems more sprint power and very short Vo2 max then. Are you starting really well warmed up?

No I haven't but I booked through the Radisson Rewards Scheme and I can cancel up until the day before. Hopefully you can too.

Oh bollox!

Race tactics have just changed to seeing if I can catch up with @LBHIFI and @Brusgaard and hang on for grim death!
Seriously on this point. I'm sure I know the answer but I'd like to check anyway.

Can @Brusgaard or @LBHIFI confirm that I have to register for the next stage in B category. I haven't tried reading the rules, but I'm sure that's what you said and if that's so, then that's what I'll do.

It's a shame as it means I can't finish the league with the team I started in, which seems harsh, but if so, it is what it is.

It's also a bit odd as I finished 10th, 6 places behind Petersen........... and he's dead!
