19% at one point.
I was only spinning to get a look at the views. It will sap the legs. 2/3 lap races clockwise or counter or, if possible, a mix of the 2, will be hard. It won’t just suit the lightweights either but those who can keep up the power over what are relatively short inclines.
I just ride clockwise and counterclockwise and i underwrite all what you said. My Elite Drivo 2 can simulate all those ascents what includes that course. It would be easy for Carl to ride that course with his 64kg weight .

Off topic question for more technically knowledgeable bods .... looking at a new vehicle at the mo. Need something to get HID's electric wheelchair into (known as WAV cars). Need something where HID rides up front with me as a passenger, rather than in the rear.

Have found a VW Caddy that fits the bill. Late 2011 diesel car/van but only 7000 miles on the clock. Checked the MOT record on gov.uk site and it has hardly been driven most years. MOT ran out in May, although garage will put new MOT on if we buy the car.

I'm nervous though about a car that is effectively 8 years old but only 7k miles on the clock. In theory low mileage feels like a bonus, but are there negatives about a car that has hardly been used. Will the engines 'bit' have suffered by not being used much, when I'll start to put something like 15k miles a year on it.

It's not a particularly cheap car at £19k so don't want to end up with a dud.

Anything to be careful of?

Keep going bud. I say that because I feel like I’m starting again myself at the moment and I keep on telling myself the same thing.

Maybe stick the odd race into your schedule to keep it interesting?

Which plan are you on?

I just picked a zone 2 one hour effort. My heart rate just kept creeping up until I was in zone 5 .

I will be mainly doing traditional endurance to build stamina. Has you say Tommy, I will add races aswell. Last year I just did 12 weeks endurance, which gave me a great base for Tenerife, but no top end power.

Mix and match this time

If you fancy a flat blast, there is a 7km one that is run about 4 oclock some days (It's on today but I'm sure it's on others days too). Might be a good thing to try ... warm up for 20 mins, do this race at max, then warm down for 20 mins. Get your heart going

VW Caddy was the car what occur to me as well. Here in Finland VW Caddy is popular, post company use them and some taxi drivers. 7000ml is not much for 7-8 year old car, that could be good but also bad as well. Test drive would be recommended, especially to check how engine behave, is it lazy or perky.

Carl there are several Caddy forums and Facebook. Join a few, ask some questions, read the fault sections to see if there are common issues. Being VW it will be most likely using a Golf engine.

standard issues with diesel cars. Being 2011 it will have DPF- Diesel particulate filter. If you do lots of short journeys, these will clog up and can be costly to replace. Certain engine faults too depending on which series

What type of driving are you going to be doing, local or long? Bear in mind moving back to london and the widening LEZ and ULEZ it could be costly to use.

If your journey are local, Nissan do a electric NV 200 Combi model similar in shape to Caddy- currently the best Best Combi E van

Also Renault Kangoo EV

VW are about to release EV vans, but maybe too late for you
