You're going to be flying after all these workouts you're doing, @CXRAndy !

I seem to have lost my motivation and discipline to do 1-hour sessions in the mornings. I've been tending to get up at 5:25 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, which is when Jo gets up to either run on the treadmill or venture out into the real world. Most of my workouts are 30-40 minutes.

We recently got one of these bad boys from the Big River Shop. Rather than getting one with a remote control for £100, these knob-controlled ones are currently going for £50. For £100, you could hook two of them up on different smart switches if you wanted voice-activated controllability!

My Sealey fan is giving up the ghost after 4 years of service. I had a quick look to see about getting another Cleva fan as above - it's gone up to 60 sovs, which makes the controllable version (I know @mjd1988 is a fan) at £75 look more appealing...

Tinies four sprint races around Scotland Braek . ZP indicated a nice long descent followed by a tiny uphill sprint- perfect :okay:

Turns out, you turn left and within a few hundred metres start climbing. That was shock. First event I turned myself inside out trying to stay with the leaders up the climb, had absolutely nothing left even to chase on the descent. I had to call for emergency assistance in the guise of cup of sugary water- I was feeling so unwell, felt like vomiting. This revived me. The same course start was each race, just getting longer every event entering into Glasgow crit. I was more measured doing the climb, sacrificed position so I could finish stronger. I managed to hit just short of 1100W for race two. Finished strong race 4.

Upshot I lost more race points

Looking at yesterday's race results, has listed quite a few B's from the old category are in my race score group. Coupled with the climb, really put me down in the bottom third of the events. I think my results will be much better on flatter, rolling course. These B and lightweight C have the hilly advantage,

I think the steepness of the gradient will really impact my pace compared to Phil's climbing abilities. He'll get too far ahead, cancelling out the time needed to chase him down on the flat

I think it will be an interesting race , not sure how to pace it go all in on the climb and die on the downhill where there will be a massive speed difference or pace the climb more conservatively and hold a better speed down it

Yes, I will comfortably hit 70+ mph but it's not long enough to catch up . I will need to be have a PB level climb to have a hope.

I was told that I would have to work either this Tuesday or next, so chose next week as for some reason I'd prefer Bologna to the early part of Ventoux, even though the latter is probably easier due to shallower gradients for large chunks of it. Overall elevation based on where I think the finish lines are, would be 925ft for Bologna and 1039ft for La Reine.

But it does mean that as I'm missing a week, Phil has a chance to get himself back in E for next week and overhaul my points total!

You might be best served trying to get a lead before the climb to offset some of it? On thing is certain though, there won't be much draft benefit on the climb, if any. This was at 13.2% part...

Don't give him any ideas 😂, I will be struggling to hold on anyway

The tactics are what makes it fun. I've got these guys to race...

Alex Silva 282 4.14 for 10 @ 68kg
Stephen Hynes 261 4.07 for 10 @ 64 kg
Alex Eames 266 3.97 for 10 @ 67 kg

Stephen has the best short power. Alex Silva has the best long power and I have the best 1-2 minute.
My task is to find a way to turn it into a 1-2 minute race
