I haven't tried it yet but I'm not sure that "lumpy" courses with lots of changes of gradient makes for a particularly enjoyable virtual route to ride or race on a trainer. And whilst I do like the graphics on Zwift generally, to be honest it doesn't really matter to me what the "view" is like as I'm rarely taking any notice, particularly when racing!
I liked the new Yorkshire route.

Some testing long drags, some short, sharp climbs, a nasty 17% climb but some nice downhill and flat stretches.

I did the Royal Pump Room 8 route - twice!

I only meant to do it once. Worked hard on the first pass, then just when I meant to stop a mate turned up and joined me on the course, so I ended up riding it again, but this time far more slowly. I was quite glad to get off the bike after 34 miles of Zwift lumpiness!

Carl there are several Caddy forums and Facebook. Join a few, ask some questions, read the fault sections to see if there are common issues. Being VW it will be most likely using a Golf engine.

standard issues with diesel cars. Being 2011 it will have DPF- Diesel particulate filter. If you do lots of short journeys, these will clog up and can be costly to replace. Certain engine faults too depending on which series

What type of driving are you going to be doing, local or long? Bear in mind moving back to london and the widening LEZ and ULEZ it could be costly to use.

If your journey are local, Nissan do a electric NV 200 Combi model similar in shape to Caddy- currently the best Best Combi E van

Also Renault Kangoo EV

VW are about to release EV vans, but maybe too late for you
Unfortunately we've struggled to find anything suitable to buy in London that works for HID as she gets more ill so we're staying put for the moment (and adding a wetroom downstairs). The London LEZ/ULEZ wouldn't impact us due to HID's disability. As such, most driving is longer miles so the DPF should be OK.

My concern is if a car that is so little used has the potential to be more risky than a 'normal' mileage car. Reading about on the web we've decided that it's too risky so won't be going with it. Still looking at other options. :okay:

I did the Royal Pump Room 8 once, and that was bad enough so have one of these :notworthy:

I like the Yorkshire course. Climbs not too long, so a good interval workout. Much better than NY as I'm not a fan of the high line bits - very confusing. Would have much preferred NY had they kept it real.

Looking forward to racing on the Yorkshire course as some stage - will be very hard I feel.

Me too - when they released it I thought it would be cool to “ride” around NY, having never visited. Instead it’s a make believe world, but we have Watopia for that!

I feel like the make believe stuff e.g skylines and underwater tunnels etc should be in Watopia (where I think they’re great) and “real” courses should be a replica of the actual cities they’re designed to model.

I agree about New York. I don’t like the graphics much. But the trouble is if they’d of ‘kept it real’ it would of been pretty much pan flat. So I guess something had to give. London’s the same so they shoe horned the Surrey hills into it.

We used to have one ans we are looking again but I have a T5 that I love so don't want to lose that. We are planning to look at a couple of WAV converters, but there are not many that do a solution where the wheelchair passenger is up front (next to the driver). We're also looking at a local (ish) company that could fit a lift to my T5, remove the seats and put straps etc in that could give us the right solution. So many options, but very few that fit what we need!

Tried Yorkshire. Did the long route which is the circuit both ways. Proper lumpy.

My Garmin Premium HR strap has stopped working. I'm assuming the battery needs replacing, but I can't get the unit open as the tiny screws are too tight. I've snapped one screwdriver already. I tried the 2nd one of these I have (long story) and I can't move the screws on that either.

So, think I'll get a new one that doesn't have this issue. Any recommendations for a HR Cheststrap?

I had a same issue not so long ago. I had enough about these small phillips head screws as well so i bought Wahoo HR strap. You can open battery casing with coin, it's been worked perfectly so far. I have a TickrX model because in a shop where i order it wasn't Tickr available in that moment.

Can you put up a picture of the screws?

It’s probable you’re using the wrong sized screwdriver head if your rounding it off.

The popular choice for hr straps is the wahoo offering which I have and is very dependable. Works with Bluetooth and ant+.

I also have an arm strap one which TB recommended. For me this is the best of the best for indoor training. It’s super dependable, rechargeable. Very comfortable to the point you don’t know it’s there. Can’t remembwr what brand it is... @theboxers ?

For outdoor riding the wahoo is king because the battery lasts forever.
