My race was a little uneventful was with a large group at the front and occasionally at the pointy end so adjusted my pace, we worked well until box hill where the pack blow apart.

So I held a nice steady tempo going up box hill raining in riders as i went:tongue:, past the last rider that was ahead so had to bridge over to 2 more riders that were ahead by 10 seconds got past them im in the big ring at this point I got to the final hump before the decent where I wasn't paying attention and lost 3 places as I was still in the big ring almost grinding to a halt, going down towards the tube station behind a s wildschuts caught up with him and i could tell he wasn't interested in working together as at the escalators he dropped me, i eventually caught up again this time was 3 seconds behind and he kept on putting down the power so i decided to drop him at the next opportunity which i duly did on the hill heading towards the mall and he was never to be seen again :becool:.

From that point on I was by my self slowly catching up with 3 other riders and keeping a nice gap from those behind it was a sprint finish managed to get by 1 rider but the other 2 was a tad to far ahead.

I could of pushed harder on the climbs but didn't want to go over the W/kg limit but I think next time I'll hit box hill harder.

243 watts over 20 minutes pretty pleased with that and 7th place.

Dean, you and your big ring will only get you into trouble;)

Sound like you had a good race.

I went up BH 2 min slower than usual last night. Someone in a Cat A race went past at 9-12w/k . I thought it might be Berty!

Andy, I am not sure it works like that but I hope I am wrong- for your sake:tongue:

The ave watts were down slightly compared to Bkool, that could be easily explained by the power drops, I was able to spin to make the power unlike(so it felt a little easier, well it would, spinning) where I was 15rpm lower on the bkool ride. Speed was pretty much same as bkool and averages very close. I will look at settings and adjust if I can and do test ride later after tea.

RGT, to adjust 'Effort feedback' its in the power trainer tab. Yes it just moves you into a different part of the cass, big ring or little ring, just like Zwift. I felt no harder to make roughly the same power in the little ring. All depends what gearing you have on your bike, so can adjust software instead of buying bigger cassettes or crankset.

Interesting... so if you were going to do a real route...eg Malaucene -> Ventoux and wanted to try and replicate (as closely as you could) the ride on a bike attached to your trainer with the same gear rings/cassette as the bike you were going to ride it in real life, you'd set it up at 100%????

Yes that would be right, if you couldn't turn the pedals or struggled after a short while, then you need to look at different gearing. I know my bike has gearing to go up very steep or long climbs with a high cadence. I dont worry about zwift, make believe routes. Bkool doesnt allow adjustment so assume its set at 100%

Thanks... I get it now. I guess there's a similar function in BigRingVR and VeloReality but I've never used it and left everything at 100%.
The bike I use on the turbo has 50/34 and 12/29 gearing. My best bike I recently did my Tourmalet and Luz Ardiden rides on had 50/34 and 11/32.
In reality I never used the "32" but had fitted that cassette as a "get out of jail" gear just in case I need it.

From my own perspective, because I want to ride more of the big climbs in the future I'd rather try and acclimatise myself to any necessary grinding by sticking to a 100% approach but I can well understand the logic and possible benefits of dropping down the %age.

What's your strava ? I can have a look.

3 kilos!! You weigh feck all already! ^_^

I drink 750ml of high5 1/4 every hour plus a banana or something and still lose a kilo every ride though I eat like a pig afterwards!
