Managed 4th in CAT 'B'. Held onto the front group of A's for first 13/14 miles. Tried an attack with about 2 miles to go. Didn't work. FTPs gone upto 268 :wahhey:

Managed 5th in C. Was conservative at the start - maybe should have burnt some matches staying with the faster group to begin with. A bit different with all cats starting together. I may try a B race to sharpen me up.

For the mass starts on a favorable course, it may make sense to shoot for a group with a mix. ie, if you're C, look for a mixed B/C group. If you're B look for a mixed A/B group. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find the C group winner riding in such a group -- working very hard to stick with the group, but likely not taking any pulls.

You've been bumped upto A cat too powerful for B cat :biggrin:

I have my own, albeit soft case. Been fine on two trips so far. Thing is, extra £120 and i would be taking the bike i don't really enjoy riding. May look at hiring. Will now chase Giant.

These rides are not training?
I will likely do the 4wk FTP builder when back from holiday end of august. Off to Menorca next thursday and Mrs B has suggested i take the bike :hyper:

What you need to do is sell bike not happy with, up spec of Giant frame to Durace electronic hydro. use cheap and cheerful frame on turbo.
