Assume you guys on Neos know that it averages power internally over 3s? The lag will be obvious when sprinting or putting in a big effort.
That is reason I use my quarq dfour as the power source as it reacts immediately.
No I didn't know that.

I'm not talking about just a lag though which generally I don't notice. There was a massive lag with the Bkool which made it really hard to draft, and one of the first things I noticed with the Neo was how responsive it was to changes in power which really helped with drafting. What I was talking about earlier was an initial, temporary drop in power as you stand up and increase power to push a higher gear or against increased resistance on an incline. If the Neo averages power over 3 seconds the effect I'm seeing should be reduced not exaggerated (if it's real and not just a glitch), which makes it even more surprising.

Try spinning at a higher cadence? ^_^

@bridgy what's the protocol tonight? Roll to the start line and race from there, or let people do their thing and escape from the bell? The Strava segment is obviously from the Start/Finish line so it doesn't make that much difference at the end of the day I guess.

My best time on this course, which was a couple of years ago and on the Pro (although can't recall if it was a race or not) was 1:42 so it's going to be a long hard slog tonight. Target is to get within 1:40 tonight.

Shall we just say to all go for it from the moment the clock gets to zero and we can move? The riding together to the line thing was initially because we weren't quite sure how everything would work but I don't think it really needs to be done and might make things simpler if we all just start racing straight away?

Ok chaps. Court is officially open for the week. Let’s start hearing those excuses!

I have to nip out to the shops later. Will be popping into Iceland for the very first time in my life. This could cause me PTSD ......

HID has been quite ill recently and needs to be carried about a bit. Back and hips are shot. Can hardly move at the moment. I'll push on through tonight but, you know, worth mentioning anyway.

I think that makes sense now. Trying to get everyone to stay together is like herding cats anyway  Can't see many wanting to blast away anyway tonight as there are 4 climbs to ascent before the night is through

Haha! Have you never raced on Zwift before?! Blasting away from the start is the one guaranteed feature of every Zwift race, irrespective of the terrain to come!

Not me tonight. Let the hares go off fast, this tortoise will be starting controlled and steady. With Box, Fox, Leith and Keith it's not a ride you want to go into the red early. :headshake:

I’ll step up first.

I’m going drinking with a bunch of retired telecoms engineers in Wetherspoons at 12.30.

This will also involve eating ‘food’ in Wetherspoons.

Here’s where my excuse may fail. Due to the company, beer, food and location I’ve decided not to enter this week’s race.

Would my excuse get a higher rating if I entered?
