Hi Tommy - I recently completed the Everest challenge. You have to climb approx 9000 metres and you get the Trek Emonda bike for doing so. If you then continue going, once you get to 50000m you then get the Tron bike. I think I'm on about 19000m now. :bicycle:

I know @Whorty has got one here. Not sure who else.

HIi Pete. I did recently unlock the Edmonda but I thought / think that might of been for something separate. Maybe they just took pity on me ^_^

Oh blimey Pete's right and I am wrong AGAIN!! I have had a couple of beers can you tell? I'll try again - if you have done 20%of everest then you have only done 3.5% of the total challenge to get the tron bike - again, I think! I'm giving up now and going back to my beer!

If it’s any consolation reading all that has made me want to have a drink too!

I do remember clicking on the challenge icon previously and it showed the bike climbing the mountain, and then continuing up into the sky or whatever. So I had a feeling it was more than just the mountain. I couldn’t figure out what the total number was as it doesn’t seem to do that anymore. Either way, from reading all your posts it’s clearly I’m fecking miles away!!

From memory I think Breedon got the bike first in our little gang. I think he put in a concerted effort with tons of climbing.

It took me nearly a year to get the Tron bike. I wasn't particularly going for it, but it does take a few months of climbing events
I also did quite a few workouts, and aimed for the KoM routes. A workout is the same effort whether flat course or hilly, so if you're after a Tron you might as well head for the hills

I had my Tron bike end of a January. TdZ give me good boost to have that sooner than it would normally take from me. After TdZ i have wanted to ride more on hills.

I have one but dont use it as it doesn't show you when you are drafting.

There was a malicious rumour spread a while back that Zwift would retrospectively take away ascent gained during its training plans. You would have seen a lot less Tron bikes out on the courss.

Drafting is still a bit of a mystery to me.

Do I have this right?

•If it’s telling you to get closer you are still drafting but not in optimal draft?
•if you are behind someone but you’re not sat up, you are pushing to hard and not getting benefit?

I spend a lot of time not sure if I’m getting any draft benefit or not.

The other one I had the other day is when you find yourself shifted sideways and then you are effectively being shifted out of the draft. I then put the power down but rather than slotting back in behind I overtook andy and Lars to the side of them. Then they put a bit more power down and it slotted them behind me. Anyway of manipulating this situation better?

Tommy, if the auto steering takes you sideways out of the draft maintain a steady pace and its should pull you back in after a few seconds. Or ease off a little.

Using the Tron I don’t have any visual drafting indicators and always assume I am out of the draft until it stops telling me to get closer.

Yep. I think it's fair to say most people with tron bikes didn't earn them climbing lol.

I did the everest challenge and probably 50% of the tron challenge the hard way. Once I read about others using workouts I thought, sod it, I'll have a piece of that

From my limited knowledge. If on a conventional bike, when the rider is sat up and Zwift isnt telling you to get closer you're drafting. There is a position literally just behind another rider when Zwift says 'OK' best draft position

1-2 metres back still getting benefit . if you drop 5 metres from a pack, you will lose draft and need to ramp up power to get back on

The side sticky draft has benefits, but I tend to ease off and wait for the Avatar to drop in behind another rider.

Try a A cat ride and experience/experiment with trying to hold on to the group. You will quickly learn where its best to be
