A brisk, impromptu 22 hilly miles on a loop around Charlbury. Wind assisted on the way out, a few sections battling against it on the way back. It was as flat out as I would ever go, I think. Panting most of the way and legs a bit stiff now.

A very slow 46miles the wind seemed a bit stronger than yesterday and no SMIDSY fortunately. I was going to take a lighter trafficked route but near the top of one of them a bloke stopped his car and warned me there was snow just over the top. I thanked him and continued to stop but decided it was best not to venture onwards and took a different route. It looks like I've been lucky with the weather again it started to spit once or twice on my ride but nothing consistent until I was a couple of miles from home, its got very dark now.

35 miles this morning on the good bike....6 or 7 degrees, 23 mph winds made it bloomin hard work on the outrun, but a pleasure homeward
Its always surprising how much more agile, fast and light the summer bike is over the winter one.
Very sunny, roads drying out a treat round here, this afternoon would have been a cracker.
Red Kite spotted as usual, its almost a surprise if you dont see them now

A shade under 17mph average :ohmy: I dont know where that came from...i havnt achieved that in ages( i havnt been trying either...my hammering myself days have passed...i'm more interested in the pleasure of the ride now, rather than the speed)

I chickened out due to weather yesterday and it turned out to be a glorious day so I was full of guilt. I invited Mrs Rich p to accompany me today instead on a rare ride for her and we did a nice, leisurely 25 miler marred only by a puncture for her. One of the reasons she doesn't go out alone too much is her inability to get the tyres off her bike in the event of a puncture. It took me all my strength and a couple of ripped knuckles to do the repair today.

I had a very leisurely ride today, took jnr on his first ride of 10 miles, he's only 8 and not a big 8, but he handled the roads very well, even though some have very fast cars. Thanks to each and every driver, they all slowed and gave us all the room we could have wanted.

He was very pleased with himself, although his little legs were "in need of a rest dad" by the time he got home.

Rather a slog today. 50 mile reliability ride courtesy of Cyclesport Midlands. I was riding the Moulton [ 1964 Standard ] so it was going to be a tough pedal.
Just before we set off I noticed one of younger members of our club had turned up so I said I would ride round with him, however he had his mate with him on a very ancient Wearwell touring type bike with really dodgy equipment attached plus only flat pedals, wide bars and odd sized wheels! 27 inch front and 26 inch rear.. oh dear:smile::wacko:

Started off badly as we were dropped straight away because we faffed about at the start. The first climb [Aberley] was ok and they kept up but the head wind into Tenbury Wells along by the Teme was too much for the guy on the Wearwell and by the time we got to Tenbury he needed some flapjacks..

The massive climb that followed [ 1 in 5 beast ] was a hill to far and he walked some of it, so did I as my Sturmey was playing up. Then his rear brake cable snapped going down the Clifton on Teme descent [ bad enough with brakes:biggrin: ]
Finishing time was 3hr.39m.... and everybody else had left the HQ
I have offered to lend the lad a better bike for the next event and he seemed happy to accept the offer........

To put it into perspective I would have done that ride in 3 hrs had I been on my own but I am happy to drag new riders round, god knows we need some youngsters in our club, the average age is about 48 at the moment;)

26 miles. Hard work because of the wind, but bright enough for me to have to wear shades for the first time in months!

A very good ride. Not because of the scenery or the weather as I had a strong headwind 3/4s of the journey. I put the saddle up about an inch and 95% of the knee pains went away. Must have been hindering me a lot 2 or 3mh faster on quite a few sections despite the headwind.

A glorious 47 miles with the usual suspects. Some brisk headwinds on the way out but generally dry roads and bright sunshine. Full English breakfast in Bourton-on-the-Water, followd by tea and cake at Aston Pottery. I had a p***ture, my third on this rear tyre in the last month, so time to replace it, I think.

They lied about the weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When it was still looking beautiful outside at 10.00 a.m. a ride was quickly arranged between Fairweather and myself. We rode for an hour and a half chasing the solitary rain cloud ahead of us for the return leg and finally caught it a mile from the starting point. :bicycle:
