Well today was a busy day and my wife came back from Canada - the flight was delayed and I picked her up from Edinburgh airport. They know how to charge to park $4.10 for 40 mins parking!!.

So just fitted in a quick hour on the turbo watching the box. It was a useful steady session as on the previous 2 days I had clocked up over 6 hours on the road.

you people ride for too long and if you can contiue the some momentum same you would be among the best ...i generally go for 6 km one way but at a very high speed and love the fun to overtake speedy vehicles...and then take water to prevent dehydation... what about you???

Yes..welcome James!

..Having ridden 40km on Christmas eve and 40km on boxing day I'm looking at the ice on the car and ground here and thinking I'll leave todays ride until tomorrow!

Ice and bikes = not worth the risk in my book.

Hi James, and welcome :?:
Water...at this time of the year, its almost painful to drink when you've been out a while...its so cold it 'burns' your throat
Overtaking the traffic, thats fun where ever you are in the world

It looked a bit cold and slippery for a leisure this morning so I took my boat out of the garage instead of the bike.
With a calm sea and bright sunshine it was fine on the water although a little cold on the hands, gloves and oars just don't work for me.:?:

Took a run to the papershop in the afternoon and extended the route a little to give me a 12 mile run.

It was a chilly club ride this morning in Edinburgh. Lots of frost and some ice but we stayed on main roads that had been gritted and salted. A nice sunny, but cold winter day.

Was going to go out on the fixed for the first time. But when changing the pedals over in the shed I found out it was flippin old. So I decided to do half hour on the turbo on it instead.

Cold, very cold, this morning at 7.30.

Went to meet 515mm in the usual spot and halfway there, about 3 miles in, the front light battery holder got ejected from it's pouch and onto the road after hitting a pothole. I then spent 10 mins on hands and knees looking under parked cars for the holder and the 4 batteries. I found the holder minus the batteries, but only found 2 batteries. Thankfully daylight was just about bright enough by now for me to be seen and the rear light was still ok. ;)

boxing day 2 hours and got a little lost as was on new territory and yesterday another couple of hours without getting lost.
i have an insulated drinks bottle but only holds 500ml but better than nothing. the problem i find if going out on a long ride is finding a top up drink that isnt from a fridge in a garage or village shop.

25 to 30 miles, Peterborough toward Stamford via many villages, some of which i got lost in
Very nice weather considering the time of year, a little damp..and you realise how much salt is on the road when you drop your bottle, retrieve it,take a drink...then taste the salt :angry:
