30 mile ride to the Humber Bridge with the hubby. Great achievement for him, considering he only started biking 4 weeks ago! He's loving his new hobby :
for the crash but chapeau for just sorting the bike and doing a century afterwards.Rode down to London yesterday for a party; arrived a bit early wee bit early so I decided to go for a spin round the block, which was a mistake :-(
I was passing a Supermarket carpark on the main road in congested traffic. Fortunately I had anticipated something daft and had slowed down to almost a crawl, must have been in the gap at the entrance for a second or two and a woman heading to the carpark drove into the side of me. The impact ripped the wheel straight out of the forks and buckled it beyond repair. I managed to take a bounce on her bonnet and ended up on the tarmac, which resulted in a golf ball sized bit of road rash, a smashed helmet and some unnoticeable (once cleaned up) scratches to the face. Still went to the party though and after a great night borrowed a front wheel and without too much discomfort I managed the 102miles back to Peterborough.
Mooseracer, roadies always look grumpy hehehe....wonder what their secret is?

160 miles, fixed of course, then we had breakfast, went to the allotment and dug over about an acre of soil by hand followed by a lettuce sandwich, at this point we realised we still had energy to burn so headed out to find a 25% hill and did 200 hill repeats. As you can imagine by now it was almost lunch time so we luxuriated in a very long 8 minute lunch after which with so much of the day left we bimbled out and did LEJOG. Obviously it would be ridiculous to ride back again so we hopped on the train, still feel ashamed of that.................................then.......
the alarm clock went off .
Today we did just short of 60 miles at a very slow pace on a forum ride, details on the Rutland thread.
I like your ordered approach.13 miles today!! As it was so nice out there I did an extra mile....my aim was 15 miles by this week but my body still isn't ready for that yet, and I have to listen to it.
Nothing to tell really, blue skies and sun....would you believe it's the 18th November?!!
I wasn't as cold as yesterday and we've to have a few more days of this before it turns.
I can't get out tomorrow as I have to take hubby's car into the garage for him (saves him going late to bed after his night shift) then I have some stuff to do in town.
I may go later in the day but I'm at my best in the mornings and I will have been walking about (never good!).
But for today, an extra mile, the one stop on the hill, and all is good in my world
I like your ordered approach.
I decided I wanted to do more than 10, and did 16, I wanted a 20 mile ride, had not entirely figured out way home so did 26. Then decided I would do 30, planned a route for 32-33 miles, but got lost and did 36.
When I did 40, I had a good option, a course including laps. I thought I might be able to do 45, but quickly decided one more ascent was too much, so got home having done 40 which was enough to finish me.
Don't suppose I will do more until spring, unless I get a road bike as I am on a hybrid
