Come to the thinking that nightshift is totally rubbish for me. Started off the week Monday ,Tuesday doing 10 mile each day then Wednesday dawned . Once up at 1pm i gave it a miss because i couldn't stick another day in the wind.I had things on Thursday and Friday so Saturday saw me out on a wee 10 miler . I was useless i was slow, every mile was a struggle. Putting it down to my body adjusting from n/s to normal mode........theres always next week i suppose....

My hubby struggles with adjusting his body clock after his week of night shifts.
I didn't mind mine, but I had dropped to p/t hours once I had the kids so only did 3 nights, a Friday/Saturday (when hubby was home to look after them and I could sleep on the Saturday) plus one in the week.
Saying that, the one in the week was a git, as I had to stay up all day after it (I had 4 kids aged 9, 7, 1 and newborn!)
Needless to say as soon as they were in bed, so was I!

Just 12.1 miles for me this morning, tag team effort with my son on a Dualthlon, he did the running and I did the cycling. I got round in 35 minutes, so an average of 20.4mph, very pleased that I put on a reasonable show and didn't leave my son too much to do on the running. Total team time of 1:26:35 (waiting for final confirmation).

Decided to risk the mountain bike today - first time out on it in a long time (April?) but the coccyx held up - mostly because I has hardly sitting down! Headed off to Delamere Forest for a game of dodgems (had thought we were early enough, but apparently not: dog walkers & buggy pushers seem to be the worst culprits - how 2 people can manage to block a track wide enough for a HGV 1 is beyond me, but they do it so sucessfully. Heading off the main tracks did not seem to help much either, other than being able to sometimes weave between trees to go around people. Went off to find some new tracks (sucessful), my OH tried valiantly to kill me on some of the uphill climbs (unsucessful) - only one defeated me about a metre from the summit - my asthma just too far out of control for me to continue fighting with the climb or it... No photos, for some reason the saddle bag adaptors are not on my mtb saddle anymore but on his saddle instead, so my OH had my saddle bag, which had the camera - apparently it is a really sucessful method of stopping me photographing things.:surrender:

Quickly found the mud but failed to get covered from head to toe - it tried but it was too thick to stick to clothing. Stuck to the bike quite well though. Managed 1hr 45 mins which is all I need to be able to get over to my mum's on Wednesday - home again will be another matter. Tis also rather warm out there at the moment - at least in Cheshire it is. enjoyable but hard work - need to get my fitness back (and some weight off ) http://www.strava.com/activities/95569537

 It's frustrating when you just can't muster the get-up-and-go. I hope next week will be better for you. (weather permitting :cold:)

For the first time in 35 years of cycling I went out this morning wearing a helmet! Met the Havering CTC but decline to ride with them and instead rode out to South Weald and struggle up every lumpy bit I came to, so I turned for home. Which I reach with just 28 miles done, I think I`m going down with the lurgy! Still the helmet felt okay.

Not too far again, just more miles to get Eileen ready for some longer rides, and myself come to think, anyway this weekend we have covered 50 mile and enjoying every mile, this mornings ride was in dark, damp cold conditions and the roads were covered in mud, could have done with an MTB rather than a road bike, still we seem to be getting there slowly and cleaning the bikes and lubricating them is also a good way for her to learn what does what, and what needs oil and what doesnt .............

This is a short vid of Saturdays Regents Park ride, nothing exciting just a bit of fun for those riding, had the camera behind saddle, you may want to turn the volume down.

Fast and careful!
Tricky start today, due to the fact I fell down some stairs yesterday ,you know where you bounce and feet hit the floor with the force going to your bum and feet and your jaw bangs shut, took my lightest bike back hurt a little on steeper hills, but did a cheeky 35 ,warmer Than yesterday a few regular faces around, backs holding up well

Been a busy weekend this weekend!

Clocked at least 100 miles total on Saturday, comprised of 2 different club runs, about 50 on an early morning tempo club run with @Edwards80, then another 50 on the clubs women's ride (which I attended despite having a penis).

In the evening we had our club dinner, at which we all celebrated peoples achievements and contributions to the club, then got very drunk! I got home at ~3am, fixed a slow puncture (it took a lot longer than the 7 minutes normally allowed), ate a sandwich and went to sleep at 5am, then I was up again at 7am for 70 more miles at a steady pace to shake away the hangover, with a bit of interval work in the form of pushing a clubmate up the hills when she was struggling a bit

I am absolutely shattered but it was one of the best weekends in ages!
