Been a busy weekend this weekend!

Clocked at least 100 miles total on Saturday, comprised of 2 different club runs, about 50 on an early morning tempo club run with @Edwards80, then another 50 on the clubs women's ride (which I attended despite having a penis).

In the evening we had our club dinner, at which we all celebrated peoples achievements and contributions to the club, then got very drunk! I got home at ~3am, fixed a slow puncture (it took a lot longer than the 7 minutes normally allowed), ate a sandwich and went to sleep at 5am, then I was up again at 7am for 70 more miles at a steady pace to shake away the hangover, with a bit of interval work in the form of pushing a clubmate up the hills when she was struggling a bit

I am absolutely shattered but it was one of the best weekends in ages!

Well I did eat a toffee crisp today...

That reminds me, today I took 2 full bottles, returned with 1 full bottle and one 2/3rd full! Oopsy, that could be why my arse cheek keeps cramping, lol

Continuing my occasional series "Great Views in the Peak District" here is today's; Looking out over the beautiful Peak Forest hills with Staffordshire in the distance.....you'll have to take my word for it

Really murky, drizzly morning. Two highlights:

1) Got royally scalped up Snake Pass by a Madison Genesis pro

2) Managed to catch a ladies-only group ride. Quite an appealing sight so I crawled past to maximise the benefit

I headed for one of my hilly routes late this afternoon. First properly hilly ride since pulling the knee and it seemed to cope - didn't hurt but still doesn't feel right yet. I expect that'll take a bit of time.

The route was over Lyth Hill to Exfords Green, up to Oaks, the back road to Pulverbatch and along the edge of the Long Mynd through Wilderley to Dorrington. Then home via Condover and a short stretch of the A49.

I'm still getting on well with the saddle. It was a little tender sitting on it after the last ride, but that soon passed and I hardly noticed it for the rest of the trip. A noticeable improvement over the Spoon.

The ride was pleasantly uneventful and the only slight niggle was the lanes being so muddy, which is hard to avoid at this time of year. I realised that apart from test rides, this was also the first proper outing for my latest light set up. It seems pretty good - I'll have to do some more rides after dark.^_^

The distance this time was 19.2 miles at 11.2 average, which I think is reasonable given the hilly terrain.

The view from Lyth Hill. There's some mist lingering in the Stretton valley.

And looking in the direction of Pulverbatch and Oaks. You can see the lumpy bits I'm heading for.

Autumnal arches on the road from Lyth Bank to Exfords Green.

Much later in the ride, past Wilderley. The sun is setting and it's time for my lights to get some use.

Did you get your camera out for the group shot:thumbsup:

Come to the thinking that nightshift is totally rubbish for me. Started off the week Monday ,Tuesday doing 10 mile each day then Wednesday dawned . Once up at 1pm i gave it a miss because i couldn't stick another day in the wind.I had things on Thursday and Friday so Saturday saw me out on a wee 10 miler . I was useless i was slow, every mile was a struggle. Putting it down to my body adjusting from n/s to normal mode........theres always next week i suppose....
Thirty odd years of twilight and night shifts, only good thing about them was they paid the mortgage

I was sorely tempted to go for a long exposure

Rode down to London yesterday for a party; arrived a bit early wee bit early so I decided to go for a spin round the block, which was a mistake :-(
I was passing a Supermarket carpark on the main road in congested traffic. Fortunately I had anticipated something daft and had slowed down to almost a crawl, must have been in the gap at the entrance for a second or two and a woman heading to the carpark drove into the side of me. The impact ripped the wheel straight out of the forks and buckled it beyond repair. I managed to take a bounce on her bonnet and ended up on the tarmac, which resulted in a golf ball sized bit of road rash, a smashed helmet and some unnoticeable (once cleaned up) scratches to the face. Still went to the party though and after a great night borrowed a front wheel and without too much discomfort I managed the 102miles back to Peterborough.

Nasty! - glad you are OK and chapeau for riding home- that's some distance, especially after an off!

160 miles, fixed of course, then we had breakfast, went to the allotment and dug over about an acre of soil by hand followed by a lettuce sandwich, at this point we realised we still had energy to burn so headed out to find a 25% hill and did 200 hill repeats. As you can imagine by now it was almost lunch time so we luxuriated in a very long 8 minute lunch after which with so much of the day left we bimbled out and did LEJOG. Obviously it would be ridiculous to ride back again so we hopped on the train, still feel ashamed of that.................................then.......

the alarm clock went off .
Today we did just short of 60 miles at a very slow pace on a forum ride, details on the Rutland thread.
