I had a couple of hours between jobs today, so I put bike on the roof of the car, chucked my gear in the back, and drove to my first job, after that I drove 60 miles to my second job, parked the car and rode for about an hour and twenty mins from Chippenham to Calne and back, and got a bit lost on the way. Then did my second job, came home again.

It was nice to ride somewhere different for a change and what a beautiful day. About 16 miles today.

Just back from an impromptu night ride!

I had a crap day at work, I had to fill out an equality benchmarking survey.... a bit like doing an exam you haven't revised for. Anyway, I was late home and Mrs Cube had downed tools to watch some geezer called Murray playing that tennis thing, so I had to make tea. I had a real need to get out and enjoy the evening air, so I dug the lights out and set off. I wanted to test the new fork on the big bouncer, so at 9 set off to the nearby quarry, played on the steps to see how the new fork behaves, then dropped down that descent from the other day, and then had a real hankering to go and get lost. In doing so I found three more cracking little bits of bridleway to stitch into the local loop. Good job I took the lights, it was pitch black when I got back. Just looking at Strava now........ At one point I was hopelessly lost, navigating by the transmitter masts at Moorside Edge, but found my way onto a lane I have bypassed literally thousands of times, and now have the makings of two or three hours fun riding just on the doorstep, on a figure if 8/hourglass route that can be extended, shortened, truncated or extended to suit the mood, and about 75-80% off road. ^_^

Same route as last Saturday but 8 minutes slower:sad:, legs didn't want to play ball this morning but they had no choice:boxing: .
Started off in lovely warm sunshine but 45 minutes later dense freezing fog:cold:. On a long rolling road at first I was above the fog then in it then under it then back in it and so on, did this for 20 minutes. Finally a nice long climb came along and the fog disappeared.

First outing for my new bike (Bianchi Vertigo) so didn't want to go too far. Ended up doing 32.5 miles at an average of 17.4mph. Nearly wiped out on a corner that had a lot of grit, fortunately the tyres gripped brilliantly when they found Tarmac again. Struggled to get in the right gear on some of the hills with the 12-25 cassette and the compact on the front (used to a triple and 12-28) only used the front 34 once, more practice needed.

First ride out since hurting my back a week ago. Only 5 miles to see how it would do, and pleased to say, it was fine!!
I'm working this afternoon but off tomorrow so should be able to clock up a few more miles then.

55 miles ...found a road called Gay street up on way to billingshurst ...followed it through some nice lanes and a lovely village called nut something or other....sunny, warm, south westerly wind still....only one abusisive driver today, at the shoreham roundabout...he'd decided I was in his way so he stepped on it, tried to squeeze through when there was no room, just to sit in traffic, he yelled out the window that I was a prick and that next time he would splatter me all over the road...nice...anyway ..caught up with him and had a 'chat'...educated him on the highway code and enjoyed the rest of my ride.

were you the other cyclist in red involved?

its such a shame that this coastal road has so many aggressive drivers....as soon as I get out of town life is good...

anyway....

mr. blue sky arrived and that idiot will spend the day in his tin can going nowhere and paying for the experience....

35 miles with just over 3000 ft of climbing for me today up in the Peaks introducing @Origamist to the joys of slogging up long hills in the Pennines and subsequent whizzing descents^_^ .
The Brickworks Wingatherer and through The Goyt Valley upto the Cat and Fiddle. Followed by a nice long descent down the Cat and Fiddle Road to Macc. Got a bit nervoius when I thought I was about to be right hooked overtaking a car at 35 mph. It was damn hot and sunny. :sun:I now have white hands and brown arms:blush: oh and @potsy no cake!
