Well my volunteering ride went up a notch when i headed up into the hills of the Peak District fror a bit of bracken cutting at a site called Teggs Nose near Macclesfield.Great ride even on a heavily loaded MTB and some nice views from the top and along the route.Should have covered around 70 miles but ended up doing a few more due to me wanting to have a nosey at some scenic roads and a detour between Adlington and Wilmslow due to road works which increased the mileage dramatically....Oooooooo my legs ! Here's the usual picture fest !

Went out for the first time since 21 April, the day I got knocked arse over tit by some stupid woman. It all went very well despite the fact I was riding my Winter hack bike, complete with 'guards, etc.Only did 15 miles. Left hand is till carrying an injury, which causes pain when using the ergos. The saddle area knew I had not been out for a while!!

It was supposed to be a relaxed night for me, testing out the new compact pre Alps. I was succesful for around 9miles averaging around 18mph or less on the flat course, then came the steep'ish hill bump just pootled up there but caught a mate I think he was also taking it easy in the faster group ahead. Convinced him to take it easy which kinda worked for around a mile (the average rose only slightly to +18mph). Then a second fast group caught us and he accelerated onto the end. I thought about continuing the way I was, but rather than being in no mans land I accelerated onto the back also. In that moment of indecision there would have been no chance before of cattching the back but it was a breeze with the compact/ new cones; it accelerated easily and my average went up to 20.3mph (looking at Garmin Connect it was 26.5mph for the last 4.25miles).

35 miles for me on the way home, slightly extended from the normal 8 miles  , including a cheeky 10 mile TT doing The Westmead 88 club 10 on J2/1. Got to HQ at just after 6:30 pm and was given number 48  The field was over 50 riders! Went for a ride to Wilmslow to kill an hour and keep some warmth in my muscles. Set myself a goal of 25:00 for the 10 and posted a 24:48 which I was happy with on my road bike. Had a chat with a few of the riders and then rolled home down the bike lane on the Alderley bypass.^_^

Well, well i managed another run to Styal today for a bit more experience gathering with the ranger service and adding 52 miles to the weeks tally. The day was mixed with a nice walk through the herd of Longhorn cattle with their new calf's, to strimming footpaths along a river and then finally cleaning the pens where my favorite moo cows live in the winter and poo a lot ! As you can imagine i was not the most welcome person when i got home but it's a job i must do if i want to succeed in this career.Usual pics of the day and ride for your enjoyment
Poo fest
