You'll be cycling to Italy and back next

LOL.. If I do you'll have to accompany me and translate ;)

I went out for a moderately fast ride with some club mates we caught onto another bloke who we know ride, and he goes like an express train (so as to speak not actually
train-emoticon.gif
) Within 25 miles my ave which was sitting at 19.8mph (we averaged 21.4mph for the 25miles before I got dropped  Caught up with my mates again later and they were taking it easy over Morborne Hill Bump. A car approached behind just as we crested, so we singled out and I got a friendly wave when they went by and they were waiting at the bottom and eagerly informed me I was doing 42mph (uploaded the ride and I was only doing 40  ). When I get my new chainring so the chain sits correctly in the highest gear I'll brake it (the 40mph that is ;)), still to do so this year.

Club 10, 22:53, 4th place (I think). Nice weather, conditions were a bit slower than the forecast had me expecting. I put in a decent ride averaging 343W, about as much as I could do with sore legs following 5 consecutive days of training and racing.

Enjoyed getting out in the sun and seeing some of my clubmates who I haven't seen in a while.

It was on J2/1, so Chelford but HQ was the back of a car in the Astrazenica carpark at Alderley Park if that is where you saw people?

Results are out, actually came 3rd. One of the faster times that I counted in predicting 4th was actually a 3-up effort so not included in the individual result. Not that it actually matters, being just a club time trial and all that

Hmm.... it has a few small rises such as the bridge of Chelford railway station, but they really are small rises, it is the fastest local 10 course as far as I know and the most used, generally a club 10 on a Monday and on a Wednesday on this course. Course map here: http://app.strava.com/segments/1339761

Maybe you are thinking of the J2/3 (course map here: http://app.strava.com/segments/1078016) from Tremlow, along the A53 to Chelford Island, that course is more lumpy and slower (read: sporting), last time I did that course was back at the start of the season, I did ~25 mins, could do under 24 minutes now. There are a few mini hills, can be taken on the tri bars and you probably won't dip much below 20mph unless being smacked with a headwind too.

The course to avoid if you want fast times is J4/20 (course map here:http://app.strava.com/segments/2451539) it is the most technical and the lumps are placed right where it hurts the most, i.e. right at the finish where you are to go over 2 motorway bridges. Personally, I enjoyed this course the 1st 2 times I did it, it is not fast but it is quite technical in parts, but my enjoyment was tainted when I rode a makeshift 25 doing several laps of it (because there was roadworks on the intended course) into a savage wind. It was awful coming up over the motorway bridges, the rises kick you in the gonads, then the wind as you hit the exposed section kicks you in the teeth as you drop to your knees

Basically:
J2/1 = Fastest
J2/3 = Lumpiest
J4/20 = Most Technical

Tell us bit more about the bike. What model, what bling n ting?

Sorry for delay, I went out and got a bit tiddly pom on Thursday and then was away at the weekend...
As Postman says it is a Nirone 7 and I can't really go into specifics other than to say it's much quicker than my Boardman hybrid and is a very nice ride. I am really enjoying it.
No extra bling, my old cycle computer and lights I've just transferred and I've got Shimano MTB SPDs and no extra fittings, I think it looks very 'pure'.

So, my ride this weekend: we got the ferry as foot/bike passengers to St Malo, rode around to Cherbourg via Mont St Michel, Granville and Coutances. We had lovely weather and apart from a depressing meal of kebab and a tin of beer in Coutances we had lovely food and drink too.
