Brilliant ride out to Kirby Lonsdale in the crispy cold we even saw some sunbeams, then on to Hutton Roof, 88 and a bit miles all told enjoyed every minute.
Longest ride of the month on our league when I logged it on Cyclogs.

crap ride yesterday - up snake pass, then DOWN winnats pass back through castleton and hope - aaarrgh! Long, grinding climbs and short sharp descents steep enough to have to break. Prefer it the other way round. Anyone done similar to that in reverse i.e. Clockwise, and enjoyed it?

Good in reverse? Hmmm. I'd considered doing it that way round as it looked easier to me than the other way round. Thought the snake out of glossop was steeper than the other side? Is that avatar from Jason and the Argonauts or one of the Sinbad Films, Longers?

the summit of the snake is much nearer to glossop than to ladybower. Certainly in distance, I think it's much higher than ladybower in altitude aswell. isn't it longers?

Oh way, way higher. I meant the climb up the steep bit looks slightly less insane going anticlockwise than it does clockwise.

The climb from glossop to the summit wouldn't be that bad... it's not that steep. And once you're at the top you've got miles of nice descending. The summit to glossop descent was really nice when i did it on the mtb on the charity ride a couple of weeks back, but yesterday wasn't very enjoyable at all as there were insane cross winds.

27.92 in 1:30:45 so averaged 18.46mph on the fixed:becool: Decent ride, no need for my jacket.
Sunday was a ride, got soaked. 32miles done, out to Southwell the long ay, then back through Oxton. Fast-ish. Had a group come past us, so we sped up and was on the back. As soon as the slight incline came i shot past them all, and kept ahead:becool: Impressed myself there

A nice 51 and a bit miles out to Garstang and then 3 Steps Oakenclough and Harris End, Cafe stop and then a brisk ride back to the Wyre. Weather didn't know what to do although it settled late on in the ride roads were well manky with mud and manure.
