What do I get for £4? A massage or something?

No massages I am afraid. You do get secure parking, use of loos, a nice fluroescant number, four safety pins, lots of people telling where to go wearing high viz, a nice man to hold onto your bike just before you are counted off and an official time at the end.

You can of course ride it any time and day for free.

24 mile circuit race down in Ilton, South Somerset. The weather behaved and despite the diesel money and the entry fee...I'm worth it!

Finished mid-pack in a field of some 40 riders.

Well this is kind of two weekends in one report.
Sunday 5/5/13 we cycled to Liverpool via Chester then ferry to Seacomb (sp) and home via a round route about the Wirral, 104miles and last Sunday we did this

Sorry the pictures are head-cam stills and I'll try not to include too many of Pete riding infront of me

Riding back through Chester

Beautiful spring days and great cycle path from Deeside to Chester

Marsh near Burton point

Spitfire and Timothy Taylor on draft

Another good stop in Hoylake

Promenade ride from Hoylake to New Brighton

Sadly the decent cycle path ends near Birkenhead and it gets very bitty down to Ellesmere

Quick pic of Liverpool across the Mersey.....all together NOW

Chester to Ellesmere along the canal

It is Spring I tell you look

Sorry, a lazy report, but a couple of good rides. I will get a decent camera or a better phone as I love some of the pics people put up.

Looks like a great ride, if you venture out again soon, I'd like to join you for part of the route if that would be ok?

I tried a route variation that I haven't done for a while.

Started off by heading to Condover as usual, I then headed to Boreton and Berrington before turning off and riding through Eaton Mascott. Then to Cound and Harnage before turning back towards Acton Burnell via Cound Moor. Next port of call was Longnor before I headed back via Ryton and Condover.

I was struggling to get on with the saddle again today  so there were a few stops for adjustments. We'll have to see whether it's any better next trip.

I had one clot who overtook and turned left directly in front of me and a few passes that were closer than I'd like, but otherwise it wasn't a bad trip.

It was exactly 23 miles today at an average of 13.4mph. Would've been quicker if it wasn't for those pesky stops.;)

Sorry but no photos today. I only took one this trip and it didn't turn out very interesting.

53.65 miles to this evening, it was overcast and cold. I left a 4:15pm to meet Jane, who was coming back from work doing her 48 mile each way commute. I went round the outskirts of Bicester to Brill, Oakley, Worminghall, Thame, Tetsworth, finally met her just before Pyrton. Turned round and came back the way I came, stopped of at a pub for dinner, and then 18 mile back. Blumen cold coming out of that pub. Nice ride though.

Set off bright and early to meet up with my cycling pal, only to get to the meeting point and find he sent me a message about not feeling well. The sun was out so whilst I was a little deflated I set out on my own to do an hour, the wife's having her hair cut so the teenagers were home alone. Got in some hills, a new top speed (41.7mph) on a lovely down hill section, did 15 miles, 771ft of climbing at back home in 52 minutes. It's lovely and warm now, but lots of insects in the air, especially by the village ponds!
