wonderful sunshine, shorts and a CC shirt instead of the recent longs and jacket. Tooka short jolly around the Hanningfields...all was well until I approached the home run when :

1) Going down a steep hill at 50km an hour I was faced with 4x4 mum coming up the hill on th ewrong side of the road to get around parked cars...I darn't take my hands off th ebars so I gestured with my helmet (oo er) for her to pull over PDQ...she just stuck two fingers up at me and didnt move an inch or slow down at all...I think there was less than an inch between me and her mirrow as we passed...Bitch.

2) Doppy hippy type cutting hedge with hedge trimmer...taking a quick break from trimming he dangled the machine so that it was over hanging the road at a horizontol angle right in front of me as I appraoched...the thing was still turning...lucky I had space to swerve or I would have had a serious haircut as a minimum!

...what is it with these morons??? Are they from planet earth?

Today i rode to school(its hilly but short) sat around in the 6th form room track standing with, both hands, one hand, no hand, no handed backwards peddling then some normal backwards circles. Could do just under one:sad: Oh and was then challaneged to track stand on a table, which i did:biggrin: Got the video:becool:
Then did 19.70 miles this evening. Was nice, but at the end i was track standing at some lights, just to the right of the left lane. Front wheel moved forward slightly, so i brought it back. Next thing i hear theres a bike horn because a women had gone from behind me to the right lane and cut a bike up. Then the guy on the bike said "what the hell are you doing."
I didnt make the person go into his lane, i was a distance back from the car infront, about a cars length. That annoyed me, i was in my lane and if the car behind had given me enough space(which i think he did from having a quick look behind, there was no need for her to move)

edit:table top track stand seen here
But ofcourse its childish, immature, stupid and shouldnt be done

6th form! More like Infants! You were wearing shorts!

Most of the standing was by you on that table!

And be mor everbal to idiots on the road. Don't be intimidated.

That table was wobbling alot. Had to get used to it, was bloody high up. :becool:
Apparently i shouldnt be wearing shorts now, but its still warm.
I was verbal to him, i told him i was track standing and asked what he was doing, whilst keeping up with him moving off from the lights. Never answered me:wacko:

Does anyone else here let loose with all guns blazing, only to realise you may end up with a black eye :becool::wacko::tongue:

Last 3 miles of a lovey 20, quiet A road, minding my own business, and out of someones drive comes a Merc LM series 4WD, headed straight toward me. He saw me in time, but too late for comfort.. I got in front and gestured toward my eyes 'open your eyes' was the intended message.
What do i get in return....'yap yap' symbol with his hands...:angry:
So i stopped the bike in the middle of the road to force him to stop, turned the bike round and went to his window

'so whats with the 'yap yap' signal with your hands then' i said
'You started it...giving me the 'eyes' symbol' he said.
'What do you want me to do, 'thank you' for nearly running me off the road' i sad sarcastically....then realising the size of the young guy sat next to him

A few expletives followed...i swung the bike round and 'accidentally' bumped his door with my front tyre....'now who's 'yap yapping' i said and rode off....as big fella in the passenger seat jumped out to see what i'd done (which was nothing of course)

It does occur to me sometimes, i'm not a big fella, not a fighter, but i can't hold my tongue

Rode on at my normal pace (thankfully now in traffic....just in case they wanted revenge  )
Once again, ( apart from that thankfuly rare incident) lovely sunny ride from work, tad under 20 miles today...

28 miles commuting, of which 20 of that was 'business' miles on the bike, although only 11 was 'claimable' cos we deduct home to normal base grr.....

Would love to see the folk processing the expense claims soon, clocked up 70 business miles in the last 6 weeks........

Might have to do a tax return to reclaim the tax back on the 'from home' bit....heh..heh (PS I am an accountant for my sins.....)

I had to read the company Health & Safety manual today one thing they have done is to ban the use of cycles on company business  but also say you can use a motorbike if its insured for business. IMO the push bike is much safer, yet it's the one that's banned
