i am now unemplyed:angry:

I like that; a 14-year-old saying that he's unemployed! ;)
Now you can see the importance of getting good qualifications at school, which should help ypou get a better job. *end of lecture* :troll:

Not that I think it's funny that you haven't got a job Young Un! :troll:

Why don't you ask at your LBS if they have a job there? There might be something on offer in the store room, receiving deliveries and unpacking/setting up equipment etc!

Something will turn up!

Paper round...ha..ha.....

I did my round from 12 to 16...... 5 miles easily, needed a bike, still took close to an hour - 6 days a week, 6.30am start, all weathers..... all for less than £4 a week..... 25 ish years ago - that was hard in the winter...... set me up for going on club runs though from 16 plus.........

thing is i dont have an lbs - i did have a little one but that closed down not so long ago, and the other one near me seems a bit like hes selling 30 yr old bikes?? - based upoon his window display - the shop doesnt look very nice - and for that reason i havent actually been in there

Yesterday I got up at 5.45am and was on the road at 6.25am to ride to work. I had to chair a meeting at 11am, yes, a Saturday - the joys of working for the OU. So I rode 55 miles from Lutterworth to Milton Keynes. I was expecting to do it in about 3 hrs 40mins. I beasted it and it turned out I did do it in that time, but had about 15 mins short breaks for food/replenish bottle/breather, and then I had a puncture 2 miles from work! Cue a mad scramble on the grass verge of Brickhill st and much heaving trying to get the tyre off campag deep rimmed wheels. I eventually arrived at work with 15 mins to spare, took a shower - they don't turn the hot water on on a Saturday - then I chaired a 4.5 hr meeting. My intention was to ride home again, but the earlier start and beasting dictated that I just rode to MK central train station and got picked up at the other end...

nice 27.35 miles, nice ride - blasted past alot of sunday club runs:biggrin: then got an average of 16.96 - would have been higher but a couple of miles from home my saddle slipped down(tilted down) so i had to stop and fix that - and of course the bolt for it is directly under the saddle bag so i had to take that off - ended up just putting it in my jersey pocket for ride home.

Slllloooooowwww ride today. 50something miles with an average of 17.41mph. On the fixed, lovely day. Some people at the back of the group had a crash. Was slippy on a left bend, i went around and my back wheel slipped abit but held it and made it look cool. Then i heard some crashing and one person had slipped down, followed by a few others. Just some scrapes on the bikes, and some dirt on the clothes. What made it bad was that there was a car coming out, which had stopped. I thought it was going to be abit tight going around the courner, and my wheel slipped then gripped then slipped then gripped. No room to straighten up, because of the car.
Was a nice ride though in the sun.

Just come back from a 25 around the beautiful autumn Lincolnshire wolds. Superb weather with sunshine and few clowns piloting tin boxes to spoil it. I underestimated the temperature though as I got a bit steamy in a midweight jersey. Not complaining though.

One thing did get my goat a bit (and this from one who knows, has worked with and respects the local farmers) was the seemingly endless mud on the roads. The farm vehicle drivers seem to think its ok to plaster the stuff on quiet lanes because there is little traffic. It got a tad lively on a couple of bends, but there was absolutely no danger of me being separated from my bike 'cos my a**e cheeks were gripping the saddle in a vice-like grip:biggrin:

53 miles for me today. Nice and hilly, didn't pace myself, lots of suffering:biggrin:
Switching from a compact to a standard at the same time as moving to north wales was probably not the best idea in the world! Still, my legs are getting stronger as a result.
Looked like a hill climb TT was about to happen on horseshoe pass when I went through. Loads of cyclists, stewards etc there. Looked like fun! I rode up and pretended I was in it...
Anyone here in it??

Pootled up to Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath; drank a cold can of Grolsch on the grassy slopes, watching kids go roly-poly and dogs bum-sniffing and people throwing frisbees, then pootled back down the woodland walk....lovely! Only slight grumph - passed at high speed on the woodland walk by a MTB twat who obviously Needed To Win. Kids, dogs, old folk, loose underfoot, but hey, Me Tarzan! W****r.

25 mile pootle on the mtb today, amazed at the lack of people on such a great Sunday afternoon....only one roadie, and a family of 4 out and about, a couple of dog walkers, and that was it. Glorious afternoon though here in Berkshire/Hampshire.
