A quick 10 with my mum before Sunday dinner, it's been a while since she had ridden so was suffering after about 5. We really enjoyed it though.

15 miles for me, just a circular route around the area.. First few miles on part of one of the National cycle paths then onto the road, tried a new path I had spotted on Google Earth but it was not cycleable (well for me anyhow) so pushed most of the way along that then back onto the road.

Saw a dead otter beside the road, did not stop to examine it in great detail but it did not seem run over so guess it was hit and just made it off the road.

Am thinking of trying this route the other way around next Sunday (sore head permitting after the football on Saturday) - much as this can not be the case when I went on a circular route but it seemed that I was doing more down hill than up hill!!

10 miles am, 'resistance training' this morning (aka the trailer and little one)

20 miles, pm - though no legs for half the ride, made it very difficult!

Only my commute this morning, just under 5 miles but the weather was good, little or no wind and I felt good and it was most enjoyable. Its mornings like this that remember me why cycling is so good. I think it was my fastest commute of the year 15.2 mph on the heavy hybrid.

I did 28.85 in 1:33:29 so averaged 18.48mph on the fixed:becool: Got a max speed of 37.98 on it:eek: Powered up a hill then shot down the other side. Abit scary, but only just pulled the front brake abit. Felt good after, the hill goes down steep, then up then back down again.
Lovely ride, not bad weather, but its soon going to be dark at this time:sad:

You could of got through, you should of just gone for it;)
Man up though, no need for a plaster, just let the blood drip, make you look hard to car drivers:angry::smile::tongue:

i think i needed a plaster - i had already put a big thick red line accross my hi-vis jersey - and that was only in 50metres of riding - oh and car window cleaner is great for removing blood;)

17 miles commute home tonight...actually, i only live 2.5 miles from work, but i fancied a detour.
One of the girls said to me as i left work
' you live that way dont you ?' (the opposite to where i was heading)
'yes, but i'm going to go through town and add a few miles on'

 'why ?'

'Cos i enjoy it..i'll hopefully get 20 miles in'

:wacko::wacko: She didnt get it...i must seem insane to her way of thinking.

Anyway...through town, mix it with the rush hour traffic, then on the way out of town, there were about 2 or 3 miles of mostly static or slow moving traffic, so i turned round after a bit and took great pleasure (i always do ) in cycling past hundreds of stuck cars. The occasional ones that block your cycle lane, i just overtake them on the offside
About 5 miles back into town, turn round and do it all again.

Southerly wind today, so it's been warm, and i was drenched with sweat when i got home (bloomin rucksack)

Very very enjoyable:tongue:

I did a quick 10miles off-road on the singlespeed last night after fixing it. Very wet and muddy out there.
