Did the Helwith Bridge duathlon today though it looked like it might be cancelled last night with the bad weather we had yesterday. It was a gorgeous day in N. Yorks in the end despite a cold start. The second run for instance was better, warmer and sunnier than virtually any day we had during the summer. My times were 00:25:06 for the first 4 mile run and transition (positions not finalised yet) 01:19:11 for the cycle but I had a slow puncture and had to stop twice to pump up the tyre! I reckon that cost me 3 minutes and 5 positions and finally 00:27:46 for the second run/transition to give me an overall time of 02:12:03 and 21st position. Bit disappointed at the cycle time and the expensive inner tube that let me down when I needed it to perform. Still, all these things teach us something, don't they?

Well yesterday tbh. Managed to get in 70 miles b4 the rain started and even caught the wind coming back for easy finsh. Lots out, seemed everyone had the same idea to get out b4 the weather came down. Stopped piddling down now, might get out after tea. Would be nice, been in house all day recovering from manflu.

Did the return leg from north of morecambe today, I dashed up there on friday evening on a beatifully still ride through the Trough of Bowland and came back the same way today in glorious sunshine

Saw loads of cyclists out and about enjoying the weather

50 miles this morning in glorious sunshine and a cloudless blue sky. Very cold to start off with but it warmed up and I was feeling a bit overheated by the end. I left the house at 8 and was back just after 11. Probably the last run for the year on my good bike (Wilier) :sad:as I noticed that the main roads had been gritted.

Touch wood I've not seen the gritters out here yet but I seen them out in the borders over two weeks ago.

18 miles in light winds, bright skys and moderate temps....very nice, if my legs had'nt still felt heavy

Piddled it down all day. Sunday dinner then a kip after...then woke up to bright skys and dry roads ......
Quiet ride, not much traffic at all, no wildlife to be seen....borderline boring actually, but good to get out.
