pretty heavy traffic in Brighton tonight though due to some free rock concert on the beach or something.

Nah, I think they turned up for rich p's birthday party! ;)

Against my better judgement (heavy cold, can only breathe to 50% capacity), I decided to go for a long detour after work today, seeing as the weather was magnificent and the autumn colours stunning.

Unfortunately the Oslo Marathon is being run today, so there were loads of peds across the cycling paths and roads, so I gave up. Why do runners never look like they're enjoying themselves?

Bought a tub of ice-cream, which this little piggy devoured very quickly - purely for throat-soothing purposes, of course.

How's the course going, BTFB? I hope to do one in Feb or March.

Only fancied an hour before the Grand Prix started, so made it a tough one. 3000ft of climbing in less than 7 miles

98.01miles in 5:07:27 so i averaged 19.12mph:eek:
The normal sunday ride was too slow so a few went off and i followed. Bloody hard ride, but lovely really. Had a stop after 48miles. Legs are now very very tired. Oh and i'm hungry:biggrin:

I didn't go out today but i'm heading out at 6 tomorrow morning for a couple of hours of off road before work, we usually get about 20/30 miles in depending on the hills!

65 miles (105k) it was hilly but there were a couple of guys a bit off pace so we had to keep waiting for them - a bit frustrating but going out in the fog only for it to burn off as we headed into the Cotswolds filled me with joy. And to think I almost stayed in bed!

33 miles today. A mix of bright'ish and cloudy skys...odd bit of 'mizzle'...but nothing to get wet, oh and of course, despite going in four directions....i seemed to have the wnd against me in all four ..hows that happen then ???
Lots of birdlife out there today. SIX  Red Kite over a large field. Six....i've seen four together, but not six. Tried desperately to get a photo, but too far away for my compact to deal with. Then one landed in a tree nearby....feverishly trying to get my camera out again...and it flew off . My yellow jacket may have something to do with that .
One large cygnet in a road...llike this one
swan.jpg

Tried to shepherd it to a stream nearby, but it wasnt having it...so i left the young lady to it...chivarous to a fault, thats me
Birds birds everywhere, wildfoul, geese, goldfinches, loadsa crows, longtail tits, a possible Buzzard, 6 Red Kite, all sorts of others.

Found a mobile in the road ...doesnt seem to work...maybe try to charge it if i can find one suitable

Hard ride tho. set out and almost straight away felt bleuch. Stopped in a garage for a sandwich and mars bar...felt better for that, but a bit heavy legged today. Coming down with something maybe ? Good ride anyway

30 miles cycling map free to see where I ended up. Went up a couple of hills I've never been up before, it was a bit chilly but great views. Saw many cyclists out in the west Chesterfield area, more than I've ever seen before.

20 miles with a broken crank..ohh yeh

Pah...thats just woosie :biggrin:;). I rode for maybe 2 or 300 miles with a broken frame....good job i didnt know it at the time.

Whatcha do will...ride one legged ?

The weather was particularly good here today, especially in the morning so I went for a 60 mile loop decided it was too good to stop and did the extra 42 miles to break the century. The speed wasn't that great, 15.2 mph average. It turned out to be a bit windy but it was fun. When I got home later, I came back to soaked roads, I had missed all the rain  just blue skies and patchy white clouds for me.
