I managed my first 100 miler today and I'm well pleased. I just hope the legs are up to an easy spin tomorrow! Does this mean I am now entitled to call myself a 'real' cyclist?

Depends on how how many loaded panniers you had on, was it the full set or just the back two?

Panniers?? I don't even have love handles any more - all this cycling got rid of them

An extended commute home in the sunshine  through Saddleworth.

A nice 25 miles this afternoon, a little cool but otherwise perfect, I even got some sunshine on the last stretch. Started to feel a bit off near the end, will have to work on eating right and having something in the pocket for these occassions so I don't feel like....

Put SPD(Shimano M520's) on the fixed, first ride on them. Set them up right, slightly harder to clip in then the SPD-SL's, smaller target to aim for, but did pretty well.
;) you mean the other way round surely?

managed to get up to 30mph from practically standing start in the space of 200m ish. those lorries are damn good for getting a slipstream

I am not trying to ruin any ones day! But I might just be about to do that!

I took my eldest to The London free wheel (read; loads of people falling off on very crowded streets) Some one there said that Chris Hoy is doing 58 mph at the 200m mark!

No, on the fixed the SPD-SL always flipped around and i could clip into them easy, bigger target.
On the SPDs they kept going around, and its a smaller target to aim for, had to go slow and move my foot about. Got used to them after a while, was still hard at first though.

Too many hills for the second time this week around the Clent area yesterday. The good thing is, I'm getting better as I was quicker than last time and not last.

I love my compact
