Just been exploring my new area. Did Horseshoe Pass and Worlds End, over 1000m of climbing in only 35 miles - I couldn't do that in Sussex!
I managed to fall over in the ford(?) at the bottom of Worlds End though, despite really carefully walking my bike across it:blush:
Think I'll try Horseshoe from the other side tomorrow:biggrin:

31.79miles in 1:38:59 giving me an average of 19.27mph:becool: On the fixed:biggrin:
What helped was i saw two young-ish guys infront going up the little rises on the road from Shelford to Radcliffe-on-trent.
I went past them with easy, then on the hill which goes down into Radcliffe-on-Trent they came past so i sat behind them spinning doing about 24mph(not much faster then me, there was a head wind) then i noticed one was on a Pinerello, with the bendy forks. Shot past them again in Radcliff-on-Trent and they caught up at some traffic lights. Poseur on the Pinerello track standed(made me wish i knew how to do a no-handed one:wacko:) then on the A52 i sat behind them, Pinerello guy asked me if i raced, if i had a bike with gears and said i should give the Saturday club ride a go. His mate with the full mudguards(the big girl!!!)sat there next to the guy on the Pinerello and laughed a few times:wacko: His face was a picture when i shot past going up the small rises easy while he was struggling slightly, said afternoon as i went past.
They then turned said they were turning left so i said bye and accelerated past them.
Nice ride today:becool:

Was a bit foggy this morning - waited until 09:45 and went anyway. 39 miles, when the fog/mist finally lifted, it was a great ride. Didn't see many other cyclists out, except one group of about 10 riders, heading straight for me.

Did a hilly 30 miles this morning. Route included Wanlockhead (highest village in Scotland) and then a stiff climb up to the 'golf ball'. I think this is one of the highest paved roads in the UK, goes up to over 2100feet. Hard climb but the descent is awesome:biggrin: Best thing is it's a private road so no cars to worry about:biggrin:

Why? What did you see? Was it REALLY scary?:eek::evil:

I did my club run today and really enjoyed it. Switched off the computer (Garmin Edge) at a stop and forgot to switch it back on again  so I've no idea how far and fast it was but it was enjoyable. I then cycled to Dunfermline in the afternoon the weather was good but thankfully after I stopped the heavens opened.

My chain broke whilst coming back from work tonight, 5 mins from home thank goodness.

Wouldn't say I'm annoyed because I shortened it last night and I thought I might have twisted a plate rejoining it. And so it was proved!

Ah well have to get another couple as I've put the spare on.

Rode from Worthing along the coast through Shoreham to Brighton. Did a bike maintenance course from 11 > 4 then rode back to worthing. Lovely sunny day...light coastal wind...pretty heavy traffic in Brighton tonight though due to some free rock concert on the beach or something.

My seat clamp is broken,,,my saddle keeps slipping...
