Got out for a slow ride today as I pulled the back of my knee again trying to go too fast too soon on the last ride. I still wanted to do some distance though so went on the route via Lyth Hill, Oaks, Pulverbatch, Dorrington and Condover again. Although there is a fair bit of climbing involved this is a route I'm not tempted to rush at, so I thought this would be gentler on the knee (which it was).
Once again, the weather didn't want to play nicely and I got :rain: on around the Dorrington area.

Edit: Forgot to mention that on one of the lanes a hare rushed across in front of me. Too quick for me to get a photo unfortunately.

Ever have the feeling you are being watched?

Well this was yesterday but...

I decided I was going to ride at least 100 miles this week so I went out four times yesterday (two were commute). The last ride was with a fixie friend and the sight of his little legs going like the clappers when we were going 55kph had me laughing so much I nearly left the road!

Fast and careful!
left for my commute a bit later today, 6 miles in sub 3mins and then ping another spoke gone only replaced one last week under warranty, had to crawl 7 miles and the wheel looked like it had been run over by a afghan tank,
took it to the lbs as the bike is only 6 weeks old and they are going to replace it ,but 3-4 days wait,Giant seem to be pretty good on warranty work

10 miles into Ipswich yesterday to drop the Boardman off to have the chainrings replaced. It was only when I asked when it would be ready I was told that the rings (ordered two weeks in advance) were not in stock - no warning when the mechanic took the bike into the workshop, let alone an advance courtesy phone call. That's the third time that shop has given poor service and will not be used again.

Rode home angry/pissed off which contributed to an average 20mph for the 20 mile round trip!

One 10 mile shopping trip, a 40 mile fun ride round trip to Needham Market and 3 soakings in downpours rounded off a 70 mile day.

Only 30 miles trying out new wheels on the Triban and 1 soaking today. I've started planning for tomorrow based on the amount of available tree cover to use as rain shelter. Back to work on Thursday - the weather should be better for Suffolk cyclists for the remainder of the week.
