A fine day for the cycling.
Saw six other cyclists, two of whom looked suspiciouly like JOGLErs, on my 37 mile round trip. One cyclist who had passed me on the outward leg caught up with me again on the inward leg. I had to up my pace as we cycled together and chatted, but had to let him get away after three miles as I was beginning to break sweat. I can't remember when I last cycled such a distance with another cyclist! Also enjoyed a pot of tea accompanied by a goodly portion of chocolate cake at a cafe along the way.

A breakthrough!

I had a nice 2 hour ride, stopping at Stoney Cove for a cup of tea and a chat with some divers. I didn't check my average speed, I didn't set a minimum speed for climbing the two familiar hills I do regularly, and I don't know how far I went.

First time I've really rode for fun and not set goals for the trip. Brilliant, I may be chilling out in my old age

Tried to extend my usual 17 mile afer work route and found a new way that takes it up to 25.97miles. Felt really good apart from getting overtaken by a local club up a small (but early in the route) hill. Felt like I was going backwards - perhaps I was?

Must try harder.....

Drank too much lovely wine while getting emotional watching the Olympics last night so wasn't expecting much from this morning's ride, in fact I took it easy and concentrated on high cadence lower gear cycling.

I knocked my way into the top ten on six Strava segments, and I had no idea most of them were there!

I also smashed my pb top speed and reached 70kph (43.7mph) on my old touring bike!

Well been 6weeks back in the saddle this has been the first week i have been able to ride for seven days in a row due to work and a virus . So today done 22 miles that's taken me just over 110 miles for this week . Just need a few tweaks on the new bike , first time today my backside not been sore lol . Looking forward to next week now

I hope you rode up those steps, I've never done it all in one go, but I've managed 90% before dabbing becasue of the bike stoppers on each straight.

I did 56.5 miles this morning all off road and about 15 miles on the beaches of Merseyside riding from Southport down to Liverpool

55 unexpectedly hilly miles today, which would have been fine except that T kept saying "this is the last hill, I promise ... oh, sorry, forgot about that one". :banghead:

My legs (and lungs) gave out on one of the aforementioned hills and I did consider walking, but I decided against it and instead had a break before setting off again. This usually works, even with the gravity-defying first few pedal rotations, but this time my legs burst out laughing and refused to cooperate, meaning I ground back to halt almost before I'd set off again. Unfortunately, I was so busy trying to avoid a clipless moment that I forgot to inform the bike of the abrupt change of plan, but only discovered this break down in communications when it used the chain ring and the back of my leg as an unusual (and not to be recommended) form of braking.

On the plus side, we somehow managed to avoid all the rain: we may not have cycled in bright sunshine but it could have been so much worse:

42 miles for me this morning. Sun was shining :sun: Nothing too frantic just a nice ride out into the Pennines South of Macclesfield to Winkle, down through the lanes past Rushton Spencer to Congleton and back via Chelford. A bit over 2000 ft of climbing so not too hilly but enough to clear out the lungs.^_^

Love the photo!

Thanks

It was one of those moments when you cycle past a gateway, catch a glimpse of the view, think WOW ... and then slam on the brakes, knowing that unlike most views, this one's unique.

My great-great-grandfather (and his daughter and her husband) my were the same, I'm told, though I have the distinct advantage of owning a camera that's not the size and shape of an unwieldy suitcase.
