Well basicly, i just go out.
Homework is done in the evening, or free lessons(or not at all) and i finish at 2:30pm at the latest, do a paper round and go riding. Time management(focusing more on cycling)
How i see it, if you likedoing something then you go do it. I do it prett quick now so i still have loads of time for school work

Really struggled today, legs felt heavy on both the commute in and back and even had to decline the opportunity of a commuter race home

10 miles in the dark tonight, first time in years I've ridden in the dark (trying to avoid the turbo as long as possible)

I discovered:

• It’s really bl***y dark in the middle of the country

• Cars don't dip their full beams and you nearly crash or just have to stop

• There’s a lot of traffic at night - though might have been all the tractors harvesting

• However well you know the route it's very different at night

• My lights are good

• I enjoyed it

• Amazing what I took for granted for years before the car

• I will probably end up choosing a better lit route next time

You'll find that all the time craig....
I have my front halogen set so i can just tilt it a little. When a car appears in the distance, invariably with full beam, i tilt the light a couple of times so it flashes them..gets their attention earlier.
Doesnt always work of course, but if you can reduce the dazzling by 10%..its worth it.

If I know I'm going to be cycling dark lanes I like to have my Cateye (EL 410, I think ) fitted to my helmet because I can aim this at driver it seems to get their attention more, well most driver's and they drop their beams earlier.

Since today is our summer I am just back from a nice ride to the ice cream shop and back. 10miles each way and a nice chocolate ice cream in the middle, while sat outside.

29.34 miles in 1:31:25, average of 19.26mph. Bit slow today, but lots of traffic on the road which slowed me down.
Bit boring though, didnt go as far as i had hoped, traffic ment i had to keep going slower and nothing out of the ordinary to look at:wacko:

Did a quick 10 to 15 miles tonight as soon as i left work..before it gets dark.
This route takes me round the back of water treatment works, alongside the river Nene.
Between me and the works are a series of three fields, lots of stubble and rows of straw...and amongst it all were HUNDREDS of huge mushrooms (possibly puffballs), the size of freekin footballs. ;)
Amazing...ive picked mushrooms years ago, the size of dinner plates, but ive never seen so many , this size, in one place.
I think the land around there is used for muck spreading ...god, i wished could have got to them...and had my camera.

yes it is

• Cars don't dip their full beams and you nearly crash or just have to stop

i dont find this a problem around me i too lift up my light to the equivalent of main beam and they soon get the message, i use lumicycle lights which are great

no ride to day as travelling tonight so a 5 mile this morning at 630 what a wonderful time of the day!

You struggle to get average speeds above 18mph here in Devon.

Today I did a hilly ride 47 miles and 4000ft of climbing and some 1/3 climbs near Exmoor. Gorgeous day though. Average was just over 17mph

29.40miles in 1:33:55 so an average of 18.84mph. Not bad to say i was on the fixed. Brilliant ride in the sun, nice and relaxed. Saw a girl that goes to my 6th form in a car, she didnt see me so i sprinted off from the lights, when the car went to come past i was looking at her. She had to take a double take ;)
