I was DESTROYED on Winnats Pass. It's the second time I had tried it. This time, I got past the first grit bin, stood up, cranked another 60 yards before slowing and getting my head down over the front wheel. As I did so, this dude in blue team kit and riding a white Pinarello SPRINTED past me and disappeared. When I say sprinted, I mean it - out of the saddle, bouncing away with a cadence of about 60. Eight cranks later and I unclipped and got my puff back.

Overall the run was nice. Whaley Bridge - Chapel-en-le-Frith - Rushup Edge - Mam Tor - Edale - Hope - Castleton - Winnats Pass - Sparrowpit - Chapel - Whaley. 26 miles.

I was a bike courier today. I didn't get out for a proper tour but someone locally ordered a copy of my DVD so I took the chance to deliver it myself.
Only 8 miles but at least I got out on the bike.
I hope they're impressed at receiving it the same day it was ordered. :thanks:

I sneaked out for an early ride over to Knutsford and Tatton before the forecast rain (which then didn't arrive until lunch). Thought I might see if I could put in a decent Strava segment on the Tatton Mile. found when I got there I was into a fairly strong headwind and my average speed of 25.8 mph only put me in 28th place. Came to the conclusion to get anywhere near the top of 32.3 I need a serious tailwind.

:hugs:

I only managed 20 miles today. Didn't sleep very well last night and my legs were like jelly. The rain vanished and the sun came out as I got home, just to add insult to injury.
Always the way with the weather !

Checked the schedules and couldn't believe my luck - no live firing on the Epynt Military Training Area today. Fantastic ride, I didn't see another soul and it stayed dry.

No ride today but one yesterday and hopefully one tomorrow. I was back up in Scotland for the long weekend and went out with the club yesterday. The route was a bit adhoc to avoid the rain/hail storms and on the whole I think we were successful. We were 19.7mph for 50miles but my lack of cycling and hills told in the last few miles up hill and it ended up as 19.2mph (moving average) for 55miles. For the first time in ages I've got really stiff legs but hopefully that wont stop me cycling the 1.6 flat miles to work tomorrow on a borrowed (heavy) folder as Essex is pancake flat.
