107 miles with Mista Preston of this parrish.
From home to Ashford in Kent for Pie, cake and tea... and back.
Weather did hold off mostly. Tiny bit of drizzle later in the ride but nothing worth moaning about.

75 miles today (despite what mapmyride says) in the sun again: starting to feel spoiled. York to Kirkbymoorside with a bit of moors too. Main highlights:

Scenery of course
Averaged >15mph
Saw a few people doing a sportive and had a quick chat (anyone here? It was just near Hutton le Hole)
Witnessed some hardcore frog's porn. I mean loads of frogs. Really going for it. I actually had to look away at one point.

36 miles this morning, was a bit nippy so went home early, was nice and bright when i left home, but after an hour or so the sun went in and there was a cold wind, only shorts, short sleeved top and arm warmers.

My ride today was a good 56miles with the club, I think 11 of us were out, a few of the regulars were at a local TT. We headed out west initially to Corrieris (a good cycling cafe, also sponsoring today's TT), in a light headwind going by the barely passing chimney clouds and beautiful sunshine :sun: . When we got to Corrieris a couple headed off for a longer loop not to waste such a beautiful day, sitting here typing this I'm jealous ;) I think we averaged 19.1mph to the cafe on the way back a hill or two in the way brought the average down to 18.4mph by the time we were home (18.5mph according to RWGPS ;) http://ridewithgps.com/trips/548781).

65 mile ride from rossendale to bury to manchester (city centre for a pint and dropped in evans) to fallowfield to shaw to rochdale to brittania to rossendale. rode the majority with pennine paul and at least 35 mile was off road, the rest was on quiet roads, only about 5 miles were on a roads. a lot of it was on the ncn 6 and a load more on the fallowfield loop and a load more on a regenerated old railway line paul knows. who'd have thought you could have such a traffic free route in / around a major city?

we got really dirty as 5 miles of the ncn6 between radcliffe and salford was really boggy.

a good ride and was very challenging in places and energy sapping......

all on fixies fixed at 70 inches on 23mm tyres (well mine are 24mm).

110 miles today. Started out with the CDRC but left to go and visit my mother - what a good boy, with the resulting consequence of needing a very long bath on my return, as well as a steak.

There was a fair bit of surface water when I left Clevedon with the club but it soon got better as the day wore on. For various reasons I felt the carbon wheels were bordering on overkill so I thought I'd have to play the part and cruise down the A37 on a longer route to my mum's place in South Somerset. She was a bit surprised to see me but the pasta lunch was good.

Slight drizzle on the way back for the first few kilometres but glorious blue skies for the rest of the journey, this time on the normal route on the A38, heading north up through Bridgwater and Highbridge.

A great day out...and all good preparation for the Etape in July.

48 miles down memory lane ^_^

Parents had a static caravan at a place on the NE coast (Crimdon Dene) which I have fond memories of, but have never been near the place for well over 30 years.

I decided on a cycle to the coast today; and although my initial plan was to head from Durham to Seaham, then head north to South Shields, the wind on my back as I set off from home put me off that route, thinking that the return leg would be constant headwind, at the point when I'd be tiring.

I landed on the coast at Hartlepool and made my way north, taking a quick stop to see how Crimdon had faired over the years, before making my way inland and into the wind.

A lovely spring jaunt, concluded with a chilled bottle of Hobgoblin at home.

I suppose you could call it a commute, in that I rode to an office (a converted hayloft in a farm) did some work, and rode home. 25km round trip with 360m of climb, dodging muck-spreaders, milk tankers, horse riders and potholes. I used the gratuitously heavy old mtb, which meant I got a bit warm going up the 1:6 past the golf club. Nice weather and beautiful views from the top of the valley.

The Glue that binds us together.

In preparation for our Amsterdam trip we took our freinds for a ride up the river following the towpaths, 18 miles round trip wich i thought they done really well, Allison has not been on a bike for 20 odd years and John more or less the same, pace was pretty slow but we did stop for a couple of beers, a really enjoyable day bright sunshine for most of it, i think there bums might be a bit sor in the morning.

It was a good cycle today with 6 of us turning up at the Glen Gates. The weather was unbelievably kind too mild, quite warm in the sunshine. It was meant to be the route of the Dunfermline Sportive but the Wicks were closed (call their self a DIY chain!) and I needed to get back to town and ended up taking a more direct route and skipped the cafe. Going up Falkland Hill into a headwind I wondered if I should have went to the cafe I felt knackered suddenly  and the last few miles were a bit of a slog. The rest of the guys continued on with the route after fuelling up, subbing last weeks elevations (Cleish Hill et al.) for the last 17 miles of my ride, I’m guessing they would have amassed approximately just over 5000ft of climbing :bravo: . My flatter route was 400ft less than that
Of course I did have to upload it to Strava, this segment thing is addictive
