I went out this morning for a 30miler with mates, unfortunately one of them got a p'ture just before he met us and had to head back for his shift before we got too far but it was such a nice day one of the others went Round the Forth and I joined them and ended up doing over 55 miles, it was a bit further than I meant to go on 3/4 of a bottle but it was good company a nice pace and great weather:sun:

45 mile loop around Sherborne. Lots of hills, legs very tired now. Great to be out on the road bike again.

The most memorable part of my modest little ride today was that, for the first time since October, I actually managed to get, and stay, thoroughly warmed up. It reminded me what ''cycling weather'' was!

Tired as hell today at work, end of a 12 day stint, yet come this evening i felt wide awake so out at 11pm ish for 20 miles. Ages since i did a night ride, my homebrew cree gives a good 30 to 40ft of good light, hardly any traffic southbound toward Alconbury on the Old North Road alongside the A1/M, then turned round and back via Yaxley and town.
Lovely and mild, lovely.
Two Barn Owls, one sat on a fence watching me as i passed, one flying alongside me, 20 ft away for about 100 yards.

Here for rides.
Pure bliss in the Surrey Hills. Short sleeved jersey, mitts not gloves, 3/4 baggies not longs. Now have one very dirty mountain bike.

EDIT: Not to mention comedy phone calls from MacB

first ride of more than 15 miles today for 3 weeks. Was heading up to Rivington, but turned back before I got there as didn't feel i had the legs to go over the top. Did 47 miles.

I decided to do something a wee bit different today after I called off my ride to Glasgow and stayed on the East coast and did 58miles where the gales were only 40mph but the heavy rain :rain: had passed and only occasional light snow showers prevailed and ended up being quite :sun: We had an unbelievable SMIDSY en route when we were a block of four, somehow the inside front rider managed to go down the driver's (yes there was one!) without taking us out as we ended up four abreast! His luck improved a few miles down the road on a country lane, when he abruptly stopped, at first we thought he had a serious problem, then we realised he spotted a fiver ^_^

I went out with a club group on a MTB off road ride and it ended up being 85 Kms. One of the guys decided to try and take his camera out of his back pack when going down a single track section and this caused him to deviate off the single track and take a tumble. He somehow managed to give himself a deep gash to the side of his left shin when we were miles from any form of help. Luckily the group leader had some medical patches in his backpack and someone else had some sticky tape, so we patched him up and he rode back to the base and he was taken to a local clinic to dress the wound and have some stitches. Moral of the story "if riding a bike and you want to take something out of a backpack, stop first".

Lovely club ride today, one of our flatter routes, but still 4000 feet of climbing in 57 miles. A little headwind, but the 7 miles when it was behind flew by! Nice to be out in the sun a dry. Great scenery at the cafe stop as well :-)
Roads were riddled with pot holes though, was easier to shout when there wasn't a hole at times, also nearly had an off due to large dead rabbit, shout from in front was a little late in arriving.

Lovely ride this morning. Got parents in law staying so Mrs Doseone could come too. We don't often get to ride together. 27 hilly miles round the back lanes. Cold but sunny. Perfect day.
