hurrah to my LBS who despite being chocked in the service dept, have managed to fit me in and collect this pm. they had the hanger and a lessser specced rear mech, but what the heck, my carbon steed is on the trails again and away for the hols!!!

Yesterday two of us rode to Llandovery to watch the National 100 mile TT. God they were going fast. Winner averaged over 29 m.p.h. for a 3hr 42mins! We went to cheer on Mark he did a very creditable 4hr 27mins, so chapeau to him.

27miles done this morning. Windy so took me longer then normal. Was nice though. Not sure what the police were doing, they were stopping the cars infront on this main road, waved me on through so i was happy. Woundered why it was quiet down there when i was going down it:biggrin:
Took it easy, tomorrow is the TT then Wednesday might be going into Derby again, why i dunno. It hurt and the hills were big. If not, then its the normal club ride wednesday.

After commuting, get the hybrid out for a spin in the local country park, down tracks alongside the river. And took my DSLR with me....so glad i did.

I spotted the nest in a hide overlooking some scrapes. As i got there, two Wrens flew out....i waited for maybe 3/4 hour to get various shots of him.

Nice evening, not too much wind for a change, warm sun on my back...but the temps soon dropped as the sun went behind some cloud.

Going to find Laurences thread to post some other pics..

I really enjoyed tonights ride, 33 Miles split half way to watch le Tour; 16.1mph going, 18.9mph coming back. I particularly enjoyed the return;). Near the end, doing 25mph a boy racer, coming the otherway from me decides to do a right turn into a side road, he didn't even get 1/4 of the way
a shout of "don't even think about it!" done the trick , as he had his window down and to his credit he stopped. 30 yards later still doing 25mph (deliberately just to the left of the centre line as both sides of the road are lined by parked cars) WVM decides to pull out fast out of the side road, even though his view was blocked by rows of parked cars (in particular a row of MPV's probably illegally parked on the corner). I don't think a car would have stopped in time and a bystander (at a bus stop) nearly had the poverbial a heart attack (I hope he wasn't too shook up). I got to find out much drop bar brakes have improved and I wouldn't let that idiot spoil what was a great ride.;)

10miles TT again. Did it in 26.38:biggrin: Not a bad time, was hot tonight, not much wind, was onions on the floor of the RAB though:laugh: Luckily i managed to shoot over Oxton island before a Corsa came over and blocked me. Same with the funny island at the top on the way back. Was hard all the way along, but i was climbing faster then the person that overtook me on a full carbon bike TT bike:thumbsup: Kept catching him up going up the rises, and on the flat of the rises. He knew i was there getting closer aswell:evil: Lost him on the drop down to the RAB though. Damn those aero bars
Oh, whilstriding along and talking to the person next to me on a quiet dual carrigeway we had a car honk and pass the person next to me close. He pulled in at the top of the laybye we start from and so did we, its a long one so we were in the middle he was at the top. We both got off and he must of seen how big this other guy was and the person in the car floored it

Pleasant scoot along to the local heathland commons on the MTB, very nice. First sunny evening in a long while and I got back from work early so could take my time. No idea on mileage but out for an hour and a half just enjoying the summer evening

Did my first 100k today and I'm well chuffed. xx(

The weather was overcast and quite breezy and I hadn't planned to do the 100. However, once on the road, I just started to enjoy myself so much that I decided to keep going.

I realise that it may not be a big deal to most. However, I don't belong to a club or do group rides or anything like that so it's a bit of a milestone for me.

Now for the imperial 100 - some day!!

I had quite a nice 17 mile ride last night. Went out to a small reservoir I'd never been to and past a pub I wanted to target. Will definitely go there as some stop off point on a much longer ride. Mostly quite good sunsets the last week or so on the rides .

well done Blue, a milestone ( well a metric one ! ) and you enjoyed doing it as well.

the " proper " ton won't be far away !

Thanks for that.

The bit is between the teeth now so I may go for the 'proper' ton before the end of the summer.

74miles i think it was today, around Derbyshire. Very hard, went up a hill doing 5mph in what should be the easiest gear, and everytime i pedled the bike was lurcking. Bloody horrible up that hill, went on forever. Very hot, and just up that big hill, there was crap all on the road. Not the best thing to try and get grip on, back wheel sliding around all over, sat down and it was still sliding, got through without falling in it.
Some other big hills, including Spank Hill, which is on Spank lane. Went past 'The Cock Hotel' which made me chuckle.
Nice ride today, very warm though, was really swetting.

No, never thought about it. Its at the top of a rise() and the other person never saw it. It was only when we were talking about Spank hill that i mentioned it. He never even knew it was there.
Well just got back from riding the fixed. Wow, its nice. Relaxing. No computer so i just rolled along relaxing, probably was only doing 14-15mph, but it was beutiful. Past two people on bikes without even trying, did a small hill up and then down it, legs spinning nicely on the way down.
