Got up early yesterday and rode from my house in Warwick, to Solihull - about 15.5 miles each way. The company I work for has an office in Solihull which I go to some Friday's - so that will be a major part of my justification for the Cycle2work bike I'm ordering now (Secteur Elite).

Seemed to be uphill most of the way there, but a pleasant ride. I loved the cycle route coming out of Knowle - has its own bridge over the motorway into Solihull, avoiding the major roundabout over the M42.

Coffee and a wagonwheel in McDonalds and back home for breakfast

Yesterday...

After 6 months off the bike (travelling abroad) I decided to ease my way back in with a fast 80 miler from Bristol to the Forest of Dean and back. Absolutely beautiful weather, and I was doing fine until about the last 15 miles, when I started to get the shakes. My legs are like lead this morning!

Oh, and did I mention that I now have a Bianchi road bike?

Yesterday, I cycled a fairly simple route (10miles), but on my way back, I was well tired, had poor directions, and made a re-tour of around 3miles.

At one point, I even cycled up the wrong hill

A nice but very hot :sun: pootle down the (east yorkshire) coast to Easington with its massive wind farm sitting next to even bigger gas storage terminals, the sea breeze kept the first 30 miles fresh and comfortable,

the last 26 heading back inland were hard work, wether I was tired from last weeks FNRttC  or as the day got hotter - 27 degrees at some point? the heat took it's toll. remarkbly I kept a 17mph average

hopefully not this hot for the sportive I've entered in a month :bicycle::bicycle:

10 mile time trial on my Moulton, a few of the guys hadn't seen it before and I think I beat a few who were sniggering....

26.56 on a flattish course, a bit breezy but not too annoying. Nearly hit a deer on a fast bit, I slowed down and told it to go away:laugh:

Did a brilliant ride last Saturday. An Post Sean Kelly Tour de Burren in Co. Clare Eire. 3 rides available 10km-60km-160km--1800 people turned up. Well organised along with superb weather and the most spectacular scenery imaginable especially along the Atlantic coast. First time for me doing 160km and it was quite a challenge with over 2300 mtrs of climbing. What an unforgettable day!

Nice one Apeman, lovely part of the country.

I did my longest ride today 35m ( don't laugh) a really nice day, down to West Wittering beach and back to Goodwood with a few extra miles at the end as I felt like doing more after the planned 30.

I went out for a fast 10.5 mile loop (17.6mph with 706ft of climbing). It was a reverse of last nights loop and I chopped of a parrallel road to get it down to 10ish miles. As I left town I saw my first spec of rain but it was off by the time I got to the junction in the next village (about 2 miles later). I can't recall seeing this too many times but the street lights came on as it darkened for rain but they went off again :-)
