My ride was wet:laugh:

I popped out for a 45 miler before it got dark. The first 10 miles were pretty slow up hill into a head wind but I then decided to zig zag home which was fun brought the average up from a very poor 12.7mph to 15.4mph. The numpty who tried to turn right across my path on the dual carriageway got a bit of a surprise cyclists can actually go more than 5mph

---was interupted by an unexpected warning - Low Gear Now 24% Hill!

1 gear to go - legs said no - so had to walk up the final 200 yards - which would have been ok but I was passed by someone in Dulwich Paragon CC Colours

He bid me a cheery "nice morning for it" as he went past (still in the saddle) on his way to the top

Getting ready for a Sportive at the start of July - expect to be outclassed by most of the field, though.

Anyway - 50 miles of hard cycling coming up. Today did a 33.5 mile run in just over 2 hours, averaging 16.3 mile/h. And that was 2 hours of all-but non-stop cycling (lights and busy junctions only). So I'm well pleased with that pace. Would have been a bit quicker, but for a lot of traffic slowing me down on the way back home - must choose a quieter route next time, rather than the A38.

Time? This morning, starting at 10:00.

Postman turned Detective today.I was having a breakfast bap and a latte on a bench in the village of Knapton .I was on my way to York .It was a little rest time .

When a rather scruffy looking man riding a mountain bike was being chased by two shop assistants .

Being public spirited i jumped on my bike and enquired what was going on .The man in question had stolen two tubs of OlAY cream from Savers a shop in the high street .

Off went Postman on his Spesh Secteur Elite .Confident of an arrest .

HaHa ,back streets looked like the spokes of a wheel shooting off in all direction .Rode arouind for a while then gave up .Total failure .

Well i tried .Reported back to said shop and was thanked .Continued onto a sunny York and watched photos of a wedding being taken in the Prk next to the door of the West wing .All very nice .

A really nice 55 miles today .

Had a pleasant 9.6 mile ride to our Church leaders training day. Saw a magnificent Red Kite being pestered by a crow during the afternoon. Then had a nice ride back home watching the Red Arrows display team practising around Brize Norton as I rode along. Just under 20 miles in 66 minutes, all in all a good day out.

164km incorporating the coventry bikeathon (50 miles) which I of course cycled down to from leicester. Took the scenic route back to make it up to 100miles. Lovely weather, great route, now to collect that sponsorship....

I went out for a fast 50 miler to Stirling I decided to take a slightly flatter route with only 2700ft of climbing and managed to average 17.3mph. Going out for fun with a strong tail wind behind me I was averaging 18.5mph when I got to Stirling, not surprisingly this fell substantially when I hit the wind.
