Glorious spring day here today, but yes, a bit "fresh", there was still ice on the back lanes which came as a bit of a surprise. Rode a lovely 100k Audax, sunshine, great company, a great cafe stop and lots of hills taht you could swoop down and then nearly up the next one - one of those days that reminds you just how enjoyable cycling is ;)

One of our loops of the Gower. Three up today which makes a change to the usual duo. Fairweather took his TT bike out for a shakedown as he's changed the stem and his postion has shifted as well.

First 10 miles were done almost at TT pace and when we got to the cafe the bacon butties were consumed in record time! ;)

Chapeau to Fairweather for surviving the blustery conditions and a bit of an ice scare, and to Tall Paul for just surviving!

Very jealous of all you peeps getting decent miles in. One week after getting back on my bike after a virus and asthma knocked me sideways, I managed 15 miles on saturday and a whole 26 on sunday....but I felt OK afterwards and the coughing hasn't got any worse.

Hang in Kirst. I was like that a week or so ago. You'll be good for some brill rides soon. I managed a steady 58 yesterday. Bit slow but so what?

Aw thanks 26x25. I'm touring the nw scottish coastline in 4 weeks so things will have to improve! Off to the north to get 45 miles in on Friday - I think I'll be OK eventually.

Thought I'd go for a nice 50 mile'ish run down to Lepe beach via the new forest. Bit windy but the sun was out and all was well with the world 'till coming back through Hythe at about 32 miles my free hub decided to die. Was right outside a bike shop but they didn't keep any campag spares and didn't seem very interested in trying to help so had to call out international rescue aka my mum and get a lift home. Hub will be in pieces on the kitchen table shortly.

35 mile pootle with 26x25 and his playmate ;) No drama, no hills, no cake.. a few lapwings in a field and the occasional glimpse of the sun, by gum that 26x25 is so slow, he was hanging on to the back of my bike most of the way round:laugh:

I'm so creamcrackered from (briefly) hanging onto Bonk Man's wheel today. He is soooo fast. But he didn't see the huge drift of wild snowdrops in the woods did he? He only saw the Lapwings cos I pointed them out. And he missed the sparrowhawk that flew along in front of us for 100yds or so cos he'd steamed off the front. Anyway slow is OK as I see interesting stuff

15 to 20 miles extended commute round the city, no incidents, no aggro...there's not many other cyclists about, despite it being rush hour...no-one to play with :ohmy:
Saw a guy commuting on a Bianch this morningi, outwardly the same as mine (his was dirty, mine was clean B)). Funny how we both look at each others bike..not the person on it.
I assume everyone does that ?

Nice commute today, happened across a guy on a hartail MTB/hybrid (didnt really take much notice what it was) who went at a fair lick..17 to 19 mph for a few miles. Sat on his tail then chatted for a few minutes when the traffic allowed. Gawld only knows what he goes like on his roadbike
Took the right bike today...bit too damp for the Bianchi.

A lovely 40 mile round trip punctuated with a lunch at Linlithgow. Meet a really great bunch of people there, who are also on here...

50 miles out from Harrogate to Fountains Abbey, Kirkby Malzeard and over the moors

to Ramsgill, Gouthwait Reservoir

and back to Harrogate via Pately bridge, Summer Bridge and Birstwith.

The road

over the moors started of as a good-ish track

and steadily got worse:sad: by the time I was more than half way across I was pushing the bike more than riding it. The track down to Ramsgill was steep rocky and murderous.

It didn't stop some guy on a MTB flying down like it was tarmac.

Just over 50 miles but it felt like 100.
